Lamont McClure Announces For NorCo Executive

I've been told that Bethlehem Mayor John Callahan, who is also running for the job, welcomes the addition of Lamont McClure. "The more, the merrier," he supposedly has said. He has good reason to feel that way. McClure will eat into the support that would otherwise be going to Glenn Reibman, the third Democrat seeking this position. Reibman is expected to announce tomorrow, 5:30 PM, at the Grover Cleveland Club in Bethlehem.

  1. when I think of Lamont, I don't think "merry".

  2. Did Lamont show up for his announcement? Showing up is not his strong suit.

  3. Is that a work release inmate standing next to him with the tattoo's around his neck?

  4. I quit!

I tried twice to get to the end of the video, his rhetoric and bullshit are second to none...

  5. Was that ken Kraft behind him? Where were Barron and Morganelli?

  6. Callahan should be "merry", this all but assures his victory. There is no great joy over Callahan but any other vote will be torn up between Reibman and McClure.

  7. If McClure really did all this, it is quite impressive. Where was he with the swaption as it was growing out of hand? Where was he when the County buildings were in a state of disrepair? Didn't he vote to remove these capital projects from the budget and then vote to tap the County Reserve fund? He was on Council when they voted to do away with the five year plan. Here we go again.

  8. I never knew this guy did so much while on Conty Council He has a very impressive record.

Why were you hiding his record Bernie?

  9. What a schmo! "My word is my bond" = I am against a corrections treatment center until I get a $5,000 payoff from Atiyeh. All this invisible council member has going for him is the Gracedale Goons and they were there in all of their "glory." The Fake Rev and his little gang of henchmen. McClueless brags about a few ordinances that he introduced over seven years but fails to mention his 45% attendance record. His chances in the CE race are slim and none, and slim just left town.

  10. My word is my bond?? Partner with LVEDC? Didn't he spend the last few years bashing them? Doesn't he want to eliminate the hotel tax to get rid of them? My word is my bond BS.

  11. Good to see my brothers and sisters from the COAF showing support for the best candidate to replace John Stoffa. Kind of surprised you didn't take more time filming our Dear Leader, he sure looks good on camera!

McClure has bashed LVEDC repeatedly and does want to eliminate the hotel tax that funds this non-profit as well as 40 other groups.

    He was late.

  14. 'Was that ken Kraft behind him? Where were Barron and Morganelli?"

Morganelli was not there. kraft was there bc he was invited, but told me he is neutral. Barron endorsed him.

  15. "Why were you hiding his record Bernie?"

Over the years, I've given McClure credit when credit was due. The instances have been few and far between.

  16. "Is that a work release inmate standing next to him with the tattoo's around his neck?"

That's actually the AFSCME President at Gracedale.

  17. Wasn`t this the detective that Morganelli didn`t eveb ask for? How many arrests have been made as a result of this hiring? Did Lamont ever ask for a report of the results?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Bernie did he vote for the half mil tax for open space?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I don't think Morganelli asked for this detective, but everyone on his staff works, or they are soon gone.

  20. This is a true gane changer. You may not like it O'Hare but Lamont McClure is now the favorite to be the next County Execuitve.

I hope he appoints Steve Barron as the Director of Adminstration.
    Too bad for you.

  21. 10:02, McClure voted No to Stoffa's half mill tax hike for open space, which pretty much contradicts what he aid in his announcement.

  22. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that McClure is the next Executive. Eleven Unions, two thousand County Employees, add in their families an relatives and that makes McClure the front runner. Also take into consideration all the employees that used to work for the County and their families. Front runner McClure. It's that simple.

  23. 10:04, It's not about me. My life will go on, no matter who is elected. It's about the best interests of the county.

That sounds very logical. But it didn't work out that way for Ann McHale.

  25. Have to agree. Lamont may be the front runner in this. Heavy union support and working families' support.

  26. Bernie I have no respect for someone who is against children being afforded the ability to be with both parents in a divorce or family separation. Many of us know that child custody is a horrible drain on the courts, families and most importantly children. When a bill was up for a vote by the state (which was passed), Lamont McClure was the only one on council that voted "not in favor" of the state changing the laws. You can see form the link below, when I went in front of council for a resolution to present to the state, he voted AGAINST this measure. I would be more than happy to talk with anyone concerning this. Not a fan!!!

  27. Sorry, my last comment is from the bottom of page 7 and all of page 8. I went in front of council and received a lot of support in the valley for this change. From Senators to State Reps. The legislation did pass, however it could have been stronger in favor of the CHILD, however for him to vote it down - I would love to ask him personally what his quarrel was with the resolution.

  28. Sam the short answer is that you're a Republican. Had you proposed the same thing, and let it be known that you are a D, McClure would have hand-carried it to H-burg for you.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Bernie, as of now (and back then) I am a registered Democrat. He didn't hand deliver anything because he was against it. As a registered Democrat, I will not be voting for him!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I can't remember how I voted on that bill. Did it pass and do well? Then I voted for it!

    ReplyDelete
  31. So Bernie, does Lamont have your vote?

You should see the comments starting on the Express site. I am sure this will be a doorbuster.

Oh the joy! Callahan, Reibman and McClure. I want the hot dog franchise at their debates.

We could have one and charge admisssiona and donate it to charity.

The lisper, the sleeper and the droner. What fun this will be.

  32. Looks like Lamont hit the bottle before making that announcement. Maybe he and Walt Garvin get together too often?

    ReplyDelete
  33. God Bless Lamont McClure!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I love it! Charles Dertinger is back!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Dertinger may very well be part of the new cabinet.

    ReplyDelete
  36. From what I remember of Dertinger's opinion of himself, he would settle for nothing less than being the Director of every department since he knows everything.

    ReplyDelete
  37. You may joke about it Bernie but right now Lamont McClure has the best chance of winning the whole thing. There is no passionate base for Callahan or Reibman.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Who would ever take credit for that stupid gaming authority? Worst creation ever. Dysfunctional. Biased. Should be scrapped and recreated.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Where do these people get their delusions? Just because the Unions are in bed with the politicians, does not mean the employees of Northampton County will vote for either McClure or Reibman. They've been down that road and don't wish to return to the mess.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Callahan and Reibman have no base to draw votes from. McClure now has a base that he never had before. I believe 18% of the voter base are still Union. In this case, they will show up at the polls. They are fanatical supporters. John and Glenn won't have that. They will also raise a lot of money for him. He will be a competitor. To think otherwise is a foolish mistake on the part of the other two candidates with no base to support them. The only other group of individuals in this County that are more fanatical than them is the "gunowners", and you have to be out of your mind to get involved with that issue.

  41. Citizens and taxpayers must be numb. This is the reason for apathy.

In LC a cast of right wing nutz are in charge.

In NC there are three terrible choices for county exec.

No hope for good govnernment, just pay to play and idealogical crap.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I heard that same argument when Ann McHale ran against Stoffa, and he trounced her. What was his base? We the people. not some special interest group. You go ahead and make your pitch and lie in bed with the public sector unions. An Executive should represent all of the people.

    ReplyDelete
  43. No one wins an election with 18% of the vote. Just Sayin.

    ReplyDelete
  44. McClure is a Reibman plant. He'll withdraw and throw that union and Gracedale support behind Reibman. Reibman and his operatives are smart politicians. He learned from his aunt

    ReplyDelete
  45. Fleck is samrt? First time that has ever been said.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Fleck's been samrt as long as I've known him.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Callahan has the right people in his corner. Gonna be a tough horse to beat.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Look..I'm as union as it gets and McClure is a joke! Go home Justus and leave us alone to decide the case on it's merits. Lamont is just a waste of my union dues!
