The Great NIZ Debate

This Thursday, Lehigh University's Dr. Stephen Thode will debate the NIZ at a Business Matters taping, hosted by pro-NIZ Tony Iannelli.  In addition to going up against the moderator, Thode will face Mike Fleck, Allentown Mayor Edwin Pawlowski's campaign consultant. For good measure, NIZ cheerleaders will add Allentown's DCED Director, Sara Hailstone.

This doesn't seem like a fair fight.

There should be at least two or three more pro-NIZ people ... if they can find them.

Don't know when the show will air, but it should be a hoot.

  1. why aren't you in on the debate?

  2. Dr. Thode can deftly handle this on his own, but I suspect someone more knowledgeable than I will be his second.

  3. This is BS. No way should a member of Easton City Council (Fleck) and Hailstone (City of Allentown) be in one this debate. Wait till the tape is subpeoned by the plaintiffs. Again, the plaintiffs are smart laying low.

  4. So unwatchable. Pretty sure we won't be there.

    Sincerely,

    An audience

  6. Much in the same way pioneering Canadian superstar DR. BLAKE WATSON dominated European ice hockey while playing for EV Wien, SC Berlin, SC Zurich, HC Davos and LTC Prague in the late 1920s and early 1930s ...

DR. STEPHEN THODE will skate rings around the (Too Big To Fail) NIZ.

  7. I hope Tony addresses the audience and indicates his support for the NIZ and acknowledges his campaign contributions to Pawlowski. Since he is not an objective moderater, I think he owes that to viewers. I find it interesting that Tony wants Allentown taxpayers to be burdened with a risky new hockey arena ($200 million and climibing), while he lives in Lower Macungie, a Township with no local property tax. Works for him!

  8. What a piece of crap, this "Terminator" piece from BILL WHITE in today's The Morning Call.

Any truth to the rumor that White shoots heroin a few hours before sitting down to write such masterpieces?

    Seriously.

  9. Tony has been very dishonest about this issue. I used to respect his energy. Now, I resent his dishonesty. People like Tony are bad for business and bad for the Lehigh Valley. In business and life, honesty is the best policy.

  10. Tony is and always has been a loyal toadie of the Corporate Class that pays his freight. Why are people surprised. he says what he is told and is payed handsomely to do so.

At least that clown Angle won't be on. Hopefully Tony got the message from the complaining Chamber members.

  11. Having Hailstone on the show will set the show back to 1988...

...two years before the show's set was created.

  12. Let's add Abe in the mix. Could get really exciting.

Well, Dr. Thode now has a tag team partner. I'll be sure to hold Tony I accountable. In fact, I'll be asking him if he has any checks for Fleck.

Just found out I am teve Thodes tag team partner.

I think I can fit into my old suit now.

  15. How can someone like you, with your baggage be a credible person on this show?

  16. Where and when will this occur. Could it be held some place so the public can attend and be charged admission?

  17. It will be at Channel 69's broadcast studio off Rock Rd. So far as I know, you can call for an invitation. They like audience members.
