Better Late Than Never

The Reading Eagle today tells the story of a Pearl Harbor vet who finally has been awarded ten medals for his valor over 32 years in the military. Among them is the Distinguished Service Medal.

LV Congressman Charlie Dent, who made the presentation during a ceremony in his office, stated, "I am hopeful these medals will help illustrate our profound gratitude and appreciation for his service to our nation."

Thank you for highlighting this vet. How wonderful and how kind of Charlie to personally be there. Charlie continues to be upfront and caring. Maybe he sometimes votes the way we don't want him to, but that can't help but happen. He's in town all the time and folks can meet with him when they need to, and for that, he's pretty darn good.

  2. I know that this matters very much to Dent. I've seen him at several events to help vets. He even ran in a 5k last Summer to benefit them. No publicity. He cares.
