Simao, Carroll Take Aim at City Council Candidate Mike Recchiuti

Bethlehem City Council candidates Tony Simao and Tom Carroll have been making extensive use of Youtube to promote their candidacies. Their first effort, Open Letter To Bethlehem Politicians, takes aim at Mayor John Callahan's fiscal mismanagement. 985 hits. Their second video, Rubberstamp Reynolds, hones in on J. William Reynolds, an incumbent seeking reelection. 369 hits.

Now they've turned their attention to City Council candidate Mike Recchiuti, in a blast that likens him to Pee Wee Herman. What the video fails to point out is that Recchiuti, who was an attorney with Fox Tobey, is no longer employed at that firm. Ties to that firm were severed in August. His LinkedIn page just states he's an attorney in Bethlehem, with no business address or law firm mentioned. His campaign "biography" is no help, either.

Naturally, I'd love to hear from Mike, and have asked him for his comment. When I get it, I will post it.

  1. Heh looks like the voters are not also making extensive use of Tony Simao's YouTube account. The first one can't even break 1000 views after getting a write-up in the Morning Call? Sad

  2. Jon; maybe there's not that many voters that care about YouTube just like they don't care about you or your opinions.

  3. So, Jon Geeting isn't at the Occupy Wall Street fiasco with his lib friends?

Jon, you should go across the bridge and camp out for a few weeks with your Communist counterparts. Maybe you will get the chance to deficate on a cop car, get boinked under a tarp, eat salmon paid for by Soros, even get drunk and high with all of your Marxist lib friends.

The point is, stay in NYC Jon it fits your moral standards a lot better than Bethlehem ever will.

  4. Seriously folks, the Republican candidates in Bethlehem have been outworked and outspent..They have absolutely no chance of winning..Once again, however, we thank them for stirring up interest..This will help more voters come out to the polls to easily put Ken kraft over the top in his County Council race..So, in that regard, thanks for running..We appreciate your efforts in supporting our County Council candidate!

  5. Jon, that's probably 4 times as many hits as you've ever had on anything. Be honest.

  6. "outworked and outspent."

How? Give specific examples not just general statements. And Ken Kraft? What does he even have to do with City Council?

All you're telling us with your comment is that you're a typical, close minded, partisan, lever puller and obviously one of Ken Krafts lackeys.

Tell us about specifics. Educate those of us who vote about the issues and give us your solutions, maybe then you'll be taken seriously.

  7. Best sign at Geeting's Generation P (parasite) rally:

    "We Demand Unspecified Change"

Perhaps some focus would make them more employable. I wouldn't hire any of them for my business.

  8. Anon 9:33... With more D interest in the city council race it helps Ken Kraft who runs in that district for county council. He represents the city on council and more Dems voting in the city is good for him.

  9. So, more lever pullers? Gotcha!

  10. Thank you for explaining the obvious, 11:11..Some people are just so freaking dense..Yea, people from both parties pull the straight lever..In Bethlehem, history has shown that the R's do it much more than the D's..However, that aside, mr. no nothing, it means that the more interest spurred in the Council race means more people voting which obviously means alot more Dems will be voting..Got it yet or do you need a two year old to help you figure it out?

  11. Explain that to me one more time. I just love how you make so much sense!

  13. Bernie, Bethlehem may look pretty, but the comments here from residents show what a thug underbelly it has and why Callahan has been able to use it as his personal kingdom.

  14. You can't make people make good choices. This is an inbred town and they will keep voting for the same names and types.

At one time that was honorable men. Now it is just people looking for connections, money and power.

  15. Bernie,

I know you usually vet any candidates that you back on your page. I was wondering if you did so in this case. I stumbled upon some very off color things about these chaps and am quite interested to know if you and Charlie are aware. I'm looking at the validity of the information now, would not want to defame them unnecessarily.

  16. Seamus,

Donchez is the one candidate I already support. Nobody touches him. The remainder all have their good points. I am unaware of anything in the background of any of them that would cause me to hesitate.

Your Nixonian attack is designed to smear the Rs without identifying them or stating what troubles you. I could say exactly what you just said about just about anyone. If you want to say something, say it.

  17. No Bernie, you know I would not do that. I was just wondering to what extent you looked at these two guys based on your previous work. If/when I have something hard fast I will most certainly provide it. I am telling you to take a look though, because where there is smoke there is usually fire.

  18. Seamus, there is a lot of smoke being blown around, and it is coming right out of your sphincter!

  19. "lever pullers"? There are no more levers to pull. It's a touch-screen game. Haven't you voted in 2 years?

  21. Seamus, If you want to smear the good names of the three Rs running for City Council, I've told you before you are going to have to be specific and stop making Nixonian claims that attack them all by inference. Also, you're going to have to identify yourself.

I will not allow attacks of that kind on any of the candidates, unless the person making them identifies himself and the candidate against whom the charge is made.

  22. I do see what you are talking about and will get the other side of the story and then will post about it.

  24. and for the record, you are very selective on what you count as a smear and delete :)

My guys get roasted on here often...

  25. Seamus,

No, I will be even-handed about this. I cannot allow you to make the accusations you make w/o identifying yourself. Nor would I allow it against any of the Ds.

At this point, you are smearing them all, and by innuendo, without identifying yourself. I cannot allow that. You are going to have to be a man and take responsibility for what you write.

If I determine there is something worth writing about, I will. My standards are pretty low, but even I will balk at going into someone's personal life.

I certainly have kidded Willie about his "hot girlfriend" remark, which actually appeared in a newspaper before it appeared here. But that is humor and was not intended as an insult.

I have just deleted comments attacking Sara Hailstone for her personal life. I cannot tell you how many comments I deleted about Callahan and Bennett. I try to be fair when it comes to someone's personal life.

If you want to send me details, you can get my email addy on my profile. But I am the final arbier of what appears on this blog.

  26. Seamus, I have finished looking into that situation and have learned that you are completely full of shit. There is NO truth to the accusations you are making.

  27. As you should be, it's your blog. We are merely guests here. I have stated that to people many times when they get heated at the issues and discussions on here. I enjoy the banter both thoughtful and the odd drop by moron.

  31. Give it up, Seamus. I will not allow you to post lies here.

  32. ok, asking for someone to go on the record is a lie?

and before you say it I'm not running for office so can stay anon. Absolutely would not if I didn't work where I do.

    ReplyDelete
  33. What I am saying is that, if you want to make a serious accusation that is in fact a lie and which I have checked, you are going to have to identify yourself, be a man and take responsibility for what you write. It's as simple as that.

    ReplyDelete
  34. hey if you checked it, all is good.

  35. Perhaps Kelly should try to do his job rather than post on blogs.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics.
