Robert Lasso: R.I.P.

It's tragic to read about a homicide in the tiny canal town of Freemansburg. It's even sadder to learn that the victim is a police officer.

  1. My thoughts and prayers are with the family of officer Lasso,he leaves behind a wife and 2 small children,it is so sad.A town like Feemansburg you would never expect something like this, you are never 100%safe anywhere,no matter where you live. This world is so full of crazy people anymore.

  2. May he rest in peace and his family and friends find comfort.

We pay these brave men and women, buy them weapons and train them in their use, and send them out to separate us from the bad guys. When that line is broken like this, it should shake us all, and break our hearts.

  3. Freemansburg is such a quiet town and I never imagined anything like this happening there. I have family there and I visit weekly. I knew Officer Lasso by association and heard so many nice things about him. Such a sad time and my thoughts are with his family and friends who lost someone so young.

  7. I have had the pleasure of knowing Bob and working beside him at times.

He was a great police officer and an even greater human being. He was not only well liked by other officers but by the public he dealt with a protected to his death. This is a guy who would help anyone and give the shirt off his back.

A resident of Freemansburg summed it up well when she said.."We didn't just lose our officer, we lost a friend." I couldn't have said it better.

It was not uncommon for you to see Bob interacting daily with the public either on or off-duty. One thing you remember about Bob is every time you saw him he had a smile on his face. I will miss that greatly.

R.I.P. Officer Lasso (Bob) my friend..you will never be forgotten.
