Norco Executive John Stoffa's Report

During Northampton County Council meetings, Executive John Stoffa usually gives a nuts-and-bolts report about what is going on in the County. at last night's Council meeting, he covered the following topics:

1) Criminal Division Renovations Nearly Complete. - Following three months or renovations, which included the removal of lead paint, the office should be fully functional by Monday in its usual location in the lower level. The office had been operating out of the training room.

2) Gracedale Management. - Four proposals have been received, are being reviewed by a Committee that includes Council members Tom Dietrich and Peg Ferraro, and Stoffa is shooting for a recommendation at the August 18 Council meeting.

3) Cafeteria Management. - Three proposals are under consideration. A recommendation might come as early as this month.

4) Parking Deck. - The contractor will be back on Tuesday to finish up with a punch list of items.

5) Historic Courthouse Window Project. - Should be finished by the end of September. "I think it's beautiful," remarked the Exec.

6) Third Party health Administrator Contract. - Currently, the County is served by Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Council member Ann McHale was drafted to serve on a committee for the new contract.

7) Employee Online. - instead of checks, employees will be paid by direct deposit or will be issued a pay card. 1,600 County employees are currently on direct deposit. Stoffa told Council that the County issues 83,320 checks every year. the county may spend as much as $400,000 per year, just writing checks.

  5. Really Bernie, I mean Zorn, who signs the contracts and negotiates with the "union pukes", that would be the county executive and his henchmen. This guy Stoffa is a complete zero. Not one leadership bone in his body.

    Porn just said!

  8. Once again, the NON-union employees are on a higher pay-scale than the union employees and receive the same benefits.

I will never understand how people just don't get this.
