LV Blogosphere Has Its Own Veterinarian

And we need one badly, don't you think?

Local veterinarian Christime L Bongiorno, who actually practices out of Stoudsburg, has a blog called Purr-Views. In her 13 years since graduation from veterinary school, she's done it all:
"I have worked at a zoo (Cape May County Zoo), a mixed animal practice (truly James Herriot style), an emergency practice and a VERY busy small animal practice. These experiences have taught me a lot..some of what to do..some of what NOT to do..in medicine and in dealing with people (clients and staff)."
She blogs nearly every day, too.

If you're an animal lover, you might want to add her to your daily reads.

Unfortunately, she does not treat humans.

Dr. Christine's blog is awesome - I esp. like this week's entry about the top 10 reasons to love being a vet - including when people suggest vets aren't "real doctors!"

Nice of you to promote Purr Views, Bernie! (esp. on the weekend!)

  3. OT, but Bernie -

Now that Karoly's locked up, who's the best malpractice atty in the Valley.

Someone close was basically euthanized at Geisinger Select in Danville, but every lawyer there is in bed with them, and we all live here. A horrible pigsty. We'd have been better off sending him to a vet hospital.

Our experience is that vets are much more concerned with outcomes than "real doctors".

  4. There are numerous good and fair malpractice attorneys in the LV, from Phil Hof to Sam Murray. These are good lawyers who will tell you the truth instead of giving you false expectations. I am very sorry to hear about what happened at Geisinger.

  6. And to get back on topic -

If Dr. Christine worked at the Cape May Zoo, she must be something. That place is very well run. If you haven't been, make it a point to get there.

  9. Thanks Donna! :)

To Anon (and Bernie)-thanks, yes it is the best zoo I've ever been to - the animals have a wonderful life there with open enclosures. I LOVED my time there and I'd still be there if they would've had a FULL time position for me. I miss all the amazing critters but I do get back now and then to visit old friends. Its free too - survives on donations - great place to take a family!
