Reminded that Bethlehem is a strong Mayor form of government, DiGiacinto indicated he was willing to be flexible and split appointments between Mayor and Council. But according to two City Council regulars, Callahan is unwilling to share the right to make appointments, which is ordinarily reserved to the Executive branch. And to make his point clear, he directed his department heads to refuse to appear at today's Public
Is this true? I have spoken to neither DiGiacinto nor Callahan, but do know that tonight's meeting has been canceled.
With the exception of Mr. Mowrer it may appear we have elected little boys and girls to lead our city.
ReplyDeleteOne should worry exactly where that leadership or the lack of is taking us
Equating homosexuals and their struggle with a sexual predilection to the great civil rights fighters of our time is insulting and a disgusting. For a group that doesn't want to be defined by their sexuality, they certainly obsess over making it known to everybody. Using discrimination to address discrimination is obscene.
ReplyDeletejust what we need - another bureauracy. And exactly what would they do?
ReplyDeletewhat bullshit
Reporting without having the facts?
ReplyDeleteChildish move by Johnboy, and an overeach DG.
ReplyDeleteAuditioning for county council, perhaps?
"Reporting without having the facts?"

Your comment is an indication to me that this ordinance may very well be necessary.
OT. But did you see where Morganelli allowed Boscola aide and Easton Councilman Warren into a first time offenders program when everybody agrees it was not his first offense? I know we've come to expect this from Boscola's staff. It's frustrating when the DA goes soft on politically connected potential killers. I lift my glass to Jeff. He got away with this one when he should have gone to jail.
ReplyDeleteCallahan is a child, and DiGiacinto is an adult. There are times when children don't like to be told what the difference between right and wrong are. Some really bad children throw a temper tantrum and take their ball home so nobody can play.
ReplyDeleteThat's basically what's going on with Johny Casino. Few good whacks to the ass when he was young would have gone a long way today.
