Barron's Bullshit

Norco Controller Steve Barron has called a news conference to question bills by Eckert Seamans, the law firm hired by the County to assist in the sale of Gracedale. Apparently, there's something suspicious about a phone call between Ron Angle and the firm in late December. Angle is a member of Northampton County Council and was its President at that time, but I guess he should not be talking to lawyers hired by the County.

Barron also questions a $806 bill from these lawyers at the same time to review initiative petitions for invalid electors. Wouldn't that be related to Gracedale's sale? Why wouldn't they be doing that? Barren apparently thinks Eckert lawyer Mark Stewart was calling Angle to funnel information about the petitions.

Barren's full of shit. But even if that were true, so what?

Let me tell you what was happening. Naturally, the County was concerned about an initiative that would prevent it from selling Gracedale. Copies of the petitions were, in fact, forwarded to the law firm for their review.

My lawsuit, filed on January 25, was the product of my own research. At the time of that late December call, it was still very unclear to me or Angle whether there would be enough signatures. I began looking at petitions in early January and did that on my own, looking at the originals in the elections office for hours at a time. In fact, one local blogger took some shots at me for doing my homework.

After several days of my own review, I decided that the Gracedale initiative was massive election fraud. It was not until then that I actually talked Ron into joining me in this litigation. That was selfish on my part. I think Ron is very quick on his feet and would be invaluable, and he was.

After deciding to sue in January, I did talk to the attorneys at Eckert Seamans once or twice. That firm, like the Voter Registrar, was primarily concerned about individual signatures. My lawsuit was primarily directed at an abuse of the elections process by circulators. Now I realize that Barron is barren, but he was at the hearing, and should have noticed that I was concerned about circulators, not whether someone named John signed as Jack.

Last Friday, I was called as a witness in Larry the Otter's lawsuit for attorney fees. I explained all of this at that time, and under oath. So no, we were not coached. No, we were not acting as spear carriers. It was our own suit based on our own theories.

Barren is not acting as a Controller, but as a union agent for AFSCME.

I'll confront Barren and his bullshit tonight.
Updated 9:30 AM: I have reviewed the County Council resolution approving the contract with Eckert Seamans. The firm was engaged "to facilitate and expedite all issues that will result in the alternate ownership (sale/lease) of Gracedale." The Gracedale Initiative, designed to defeat a sale or lease, is necessarily one of those issues. If Barron spent 40 hours per week in the office instead of 10 or 15, he might have noticed that Eckert's mandate is very clear.

It was massive and pervasive election fraud. I am writing about it for the Commonwealth Court.

"THE COURT BELOW FAILED TO PROTECT THE INTEGRITY OF THE ELECTION PROCESS BY ALLOWING AN INITIATIVE TO PROCEED NOTWITHSTANDING PERVASIVE FRAUD, IN WHICH

    • TEN PERCENT OF THE SIGNATURES ARE THE RESULT OF UNREGISTERED VOTERS AND DUPLICATE SIGNATORIES;

    • FIVE CIRCULATORS MAY HAVE SIGNED THE INITIATIVE PETITION MORE THAN ONCE.

    • TWO CIRCULATORS FILE 38 FALSE AFFIDAVITS TAKING CREDIT FOR PETITIONS THEY NEVER CIRCULATED;

    • ONE CIRCULATOR DISTRIBUTES AS MANY AS FIFTEEN PETITIONS AT ONE TIME;

    • NONRESIDENT UNION EMPLOYEES SERVE AS CIRCULATORS."

The only thing Barron exposed is that he's an idiot. If Eckert Seamans has NOT been looking at the signatures, then the County would have a basis for not paying them. Looking at that initiative was definitely related to the sale effort.

I also resent the charge that this firm was funneling info to Angle in late December about a lawsuit. It simply is not true.

When I did decide to sue, the lawsuit and theory were both my own work. I will add that I talked to Seamans a few times and why not? They are lawyers. I bugged lots of other lawyers, too.

But the work is mine. I prefer to make my own mistakes.

  10. Well
    Bernie
    Ok
I agree you made a few mistakes on your challenge
    "election fraud"
that is a lame excuse to generate a headline
the bottom line is the O'Hare Angle challenge was dismissed
your rhetoric did not match the numbers you needed to win
    good luck in Harrisburg

  11. Bernie,

If you discuss this matter with Barron, please consider posting your questions and his remarks. His responses should be very interesting in an election year.

    Thanks. Peace, ~~~alex+

  12. Hi Bernie,
I hope to see you tonight at the Bath event. I spoke to Steve Barron about my concerns with the West Easton DUI center ordinance. The ordinance language is of very great concern. I am no attorney, but it seems unconstitutional, in the way that it reads. I will be sharing a copy of this ordinance with Steve, and I would like your input as well. Hopefully, we can sit down together and have a civilized conversation.

    Look forward to meeting you

  13. let`s have another petition drive to withdraw the west easton project and have goernment by petition decide everythng...and while we`re at it how about a petition to pay each county bill like the oil and gas ...?

  14. O'Hare you have private discussions with the attorneys working on the contract language for a Gracedale sale? This firm gets involved in in the petitions signatures. Sorry it does not pass the smell test.

Angle and Stoffa are looking pretty slimy on this one.

These guys were hired to put together a contract not confer with every crackpot who wants to go after private citizens exercising their rights.

By your logic they should be available to the COAF and other private citizens to discuss petition concerns.

If County Council were not in the bag for Stoffa and Angle, much like the newspapers, they should demand a public hearing on this matter.

it sounds like a scandal using taxpayer money inappropriately.

    Just The Facts!!

  15. Oh please Barron is just mouthing words to get attention. The guy sees himself as the next Don Cunningham.

He beat Schimmel based on a scandal and if this Republican gets any kind of financial support he should be able to clean Barron's clock.

The guy is an arrogant no nothing that likes to strut around as though he is God's gift to Northampton County.

Fact is if he had been doing his job and had the slightest knowledge of County finances he would have helped Gracedale before the crap hit the fan.

Now he is just trying to cash in on the political benefits. he is a poser int eh classic sense of the word!

  16. You know my fathers name is my name . Sometimes I sign without Jr. He always signs without Sr.
I heard that the duplicates you cite were from that type of situation. I'll bet your father and you did the same at times, before he legally changed his name due to the embarressment you caused him.

  17. Shimmel should still be controller. He was thrown out of office for something that wasn't his fault. He pointed out in audits numerous times that something was amok in that office and nothing was done about it. Go again Shimmel. You have my vote.

  18. Thanks for the info Bernie.....so you are saying that you have talked to the law firm that was supposed to handle only the sale of Gracedale. Don't understand why the county solicitor would not be the one handling the petition issue. Sorry but this does not sound right to me! Taxpayers paying for the expense of this I am sure.......more fishy things going on in Northampton County and look at the 2 people involved...... Hoping people start waking up! I have to say.....I am glad the Controller is looking into it.

  19. "Hopefully, we can sit down together and have a civilized conversation."

That will be impossible with that crew.

  20. "O'Hare you have private discussions with the attorneys working on the contract language for a Gracedale sale? This firm gets involved in in the petitions signatures. Sorry it does not pass the smell test."

That's because you have no brain. That lawfirm was hired to do everything it can to expedite the sale, and that includes fighting moronic inititatives from people who break the election laws.

  21. "I spoke to Steve Barron about my concerns with the West Easton DUI center ordinance."

Whether the County gets a treatment center is a policy question, and the Controller shoukd keep his big fat nose out of it. He will tell you what you want to hear, but won't be able to tell you how many hours he's in the office every week.

    ReplyDelete
  22. You are angry because Steve Barron has your number and you and Angle are worried.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am angry bc Barron is a liar. He falsely tried to suggest that a lawsuit that I drafted was the work of somebody else. He lies to the taxpayers every day by not giving them the 40 hr week he promised when he first ran for office. The only thing he has managed to do over the last 4 years is get his ass censured after he threatened a company for not meeting with him and union reps. He is one of the worst elected officials I have ever seen, and it's time for him to get out of there and let the adults run it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. At least you admit your angry. Angry enough to start drinking again. I think so if it hasn't already happened. Your postings are borderline threats lately. maybe call your sponser and talk, before you do something stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Barron's physique betrays a lack of self control. Barron's communication skills betray either laziness or idiocy or both. His lispy lies indicate a complete lack of integrity.

    Other than that, he's swell.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I threaten to do everything I can to point out the Gracedale Goons for the hate group they are. But unlike you, I will follow the rules.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well its' 8:15 PM I wonder if old Bernie is in prison yet for inciting a riot at that meeting tonight? maybe we'll get lucky and trusty companion Angle will be with him .

  28. I question if he can get re-elected as Controller. This latest lawyer deal seems like he is grasping at straws.

  29. I'll confront Barren and his bullshit tonight.

    As Curly Howard would say

    K-I-T-T-Y .....PUSSY

  30. Barren Barron is the worst controller in the history of Northampton County. He has politicized an office which should be independent and objective. The people who work for him consider him an embarrassment which he is .He is small minded and never learned right from wrong from paying Severnson ["Ididn`t know who i was payin"} to unionizing on tax payer`s time. What a goof and he wants to be County Executive...? What a joke he is. Good ole Barren Barron

  31. Teletubby Barren is a buffoon. Or a baboon. It is a dereliction of his duties to be wasting time on such an obvious politically-motivated witch hunt. He sounded like a middle school dropout on the 69 news tonight, stumbling and fumbling with his lame explanation about why his office was investigating this nonsense. The career professionals who have to work for this nitwit will have to start wearing bags over their heads in shame. Can't wait for your report on his foot-in-mouth sermon at tonight's Gracedale revival. To paraphrase crazy charlie- "Duh- it's called LOSING!!"

    ReplyDelete
  32. Teletubby is pretty funny. I understand some dem's actually feel a little sorry for the guy. Like your slow brother sort of thing.

They tolerate him and are polite but secretly consider him a bit of a buffoon.

Some say he is already buying new curtains for Stoffa's office.

I realize there are people who have a sincere belief in the concept of a county nursing home but I just don't know if I get that sincerity vibe from Barron.
