Angle Vows To Appeal Braxton's Ruling in Will Dispute

It's a bad Friday for Ron Angle. According to The Morning Call and Express Times, a Philadelphia judge has ruled that ruled that a Will offered for probate by Angle in connection with his father's estate, is invalid.

The Will offered by Angle was prepared by Ron's wife, Sharon. She testified that she saw Fred Angle, Ron's father, sign it. But unlike most Wills, this one fails to include the signature of witnesses who saw it signed. I have been unable to review Judge John Braxton's ruling, but will do so.

Judge Braxton, pictured with this post, last year ran for Controller in Philly.

Angle actually contacted me about the ruling, and has vowed an appeal from the Court of First Guess, all the way to the court of Final Error.

Fred Angle's daughter-in-law had urged the Judge to accept a Will drafted a few weeks before, and used Angle's housekeeper, Debbie Vallone, as her star witness.

I'll have more to say about the star witness and the opinion next week, after I've read the ruling and track down some details.

  1. bernie, please elaborate on why courts which rule against ron angle are "first guess" to "last error", while courts that may rule against referendums, such as gracedale, are guardians against mob rule and bastions of justice?

  2. Hasn't Bernie written here that Joan Angle is murderess ? Isn't Bernie now implying that Braxton is a partisan Democrat ? Isn't Bernie going to write that Vallone got kicked out of the public housing for not reporting income ? But you won't see Bernie write about Ron Jr being arrest for theft in New Jersey. Doesn't Ron Jr. have some involvement in this mess ?

  3. Angle says "**** them all"

Where is Bernie's rant about how disrespectful that is towards the courts. That is something that a "thug" would say. He has no respect for anyone, therefore he deserves what he gets.

I guess you will take until next week to put your spin on this, because you can't deny that he in fact forged the will!!

  4. Bernie

Ron will appeal, this from WFMZ.
    In all seriousness
Does this rise to the level of the Karoly incident?
I don't think Morganelli is Rons best bud, he would file if it was as bad.
Please a detailed answer would be nice.

  5. YOu mention first guess and final error and that he will defend himself on local TV, but what is the defense and the supposed error? Are the Angles claiming there was a witness? What is the significance of who the judge is? Why is there a picture of him?

  6. COME ON BERNIE!!!! You will comment more in the future. You know first hand as to what is going on, you just need to come up with some BS to cover for your buddy and that is why you need the time! You are as phony as Ron Angle

  7. "Please give us a detailed answer". Congratulation on the post of the week.

Asking Bernie O'Hare to give an honest unbiased account of this Ron Angle Will incident is harder than getting an accurate account of the Third Reich from Joseph Goebbels.

You made my day anon. Yes by all means Bernie tell us the terrible twisted law that was used to treat poor Mr. Angle so unfairly. While you are at it tell us again how this wonderful County Council not only voted to make and keep him their President but allowed his personal attorney to serve as "their" solicitor.

Oh what a tangled web we weave unless you are a sociopath then everything is just fine.

  11. Greed. Unmitigaged, unadulterated greed, pure and simple. He couldnt stand only getting 3/4s of a likely already depleted estate. He wanted it all.

Man of principle that he is, his conscience couldnt allow the disabled adult son of his deceased brother from getting 1/4 of the estate. What a horrible thing that would be.

What further injustice will be heaped upon him? The Register's decision was biased. The out of County judge's decision was bizarre. (Is senility a factor in this decision as well?)

He will take this sacred quest for justice to the highest court of the land.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, are the votes there to retain him as President of Council? Will they be a spineless group indifferent to the embarassment of having this compromised package of goods as their fearless leader or will they finally have the courage to say enough is enough of this mean spirited, ethically challenged despot. He is immune to the concept of shame. Their failure to act will tarnish them with even greater shame for their failure to act.

MM. I have since law school referred to courts of first impression as the court of first guess, and have referred to the Supreme Court as the Court of Final Error. I stole both of these expressions from President Judge Schuster, who taught civil practice and procedure.

I will note that, except for you, all the negative attacks at Angle are anonymous. And you at least chose to criticize me, not him.

I have not accused Joan Angle of murder, but have stated that Fred Angle had his suspicions.

I have not accused Judge Braxton of being a partisan Dem, but have noted that he ran for Controller in Philly last year.

As far as Joan Vallone is concerned, I will write nothing until and unless I am sure and that it is relevant to this matter.

What happened to Ron, Jr, and he is presumed innocent in any event, is legally irrelevant in this matter. And yes, Ron Jr witnesses the signature and Sharon Angle prepared the will.

    ReplyDelete
  15. " guess you will take until next week to put your spin on this, because you can't deny that he in fact forged the will!!"

There is absolutely NO evidence that he forged anything, and making such an accusation is reckless. In fact, the testimony is that Angle knew nothing about this will, whcih was prepared by Ron's wife. I realize you'll call her a crook, to, but not to her face. She is a good and decent woman and that is who you are really smearing.

This is a legitimate concern. Lauer is only one of several attorneys used by Angle, and I see no conflict, as a matter of law, in his representing Angle in the will dispute.

But it should be avoided bc it just opens Angle up to more attacks.

Yes, Angle took a hit. No, he has not been accused of forgery or anything close to that. And no, I am not attacking the judge who ruled against him, and have not done so.

But I believe Sharon Angle. It is her testimony that really matters here. And I know Angle has issues on appeal.

  21. Will Ron Angle man up on the phony will or will he let his wife and son take the fall? Knowing his history, I believe Ron Angle will let his wife and son take the fall. He has never maned up to any of his past transgressions, why start now.

You know Bernie the only pathetic appearance here is your ability to ignore facts when people like Angle or Stoffa are involved. That in and of itself is indeed entertaining.

Much will be discussed. Fortunately for Maximus, O'Hare has idea's. The problem is Uberfuhrer Stoffa keeps falling asleep.

"I have it says Maximus", Uberfuhrer Stoffa will announce he is harvesting the organs of the seniors at Gracedale and I will oppose it. I will have the Northampton County Reichstag pass a motion written by Minister O'Hare condemning and stopping the action.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I have a question. When quotes are used is it not customary to use qoutation marks to show the EXACT words of the individual being quoted?
    Yes I thought so.
I get both the Easton Express and the Morning Call daily. Both papers ran the "will" story. Both papers used quotes from Ron Angle. The quotes were different. The Express, I charge, sanitized the verbiage for Rons benefit. They had him quoted as saying "my Dad" , the Morning call which I tend to believe in this case, used the original quote which read "my Old Man". It is truly amazing how a word can indict someone. How a word can lead to misinformation being diseminated throughout. Maybe the Express should rename themselves

    3) Because I support him and the majority of council on this current issue, the sale of Gracedale, that makes Angle no more my hero than when I might agree with any other politician.

If you have a point to make you should discuss it.

But of course it's much easier for you to say that somebody has been hijacked, co-opted, or bought. Never discuss the issue if you can't defend it, just hang a title on your opposition.

Here, let me illustrate. If I suspected you of harboring Marxist ideas I could engage you in a conversation and explain to you why the free market is superior to centralized planning. But if I didn't have the intellect to argue the point I could just say that you're a "useful idiot" of the Marxists. You've know... "you've been hijacked."

That's why you "argue" the way you do.

  40. This "will" story illustrates why so many people are dubious of anything Ron Angle proposes. Also why people are suspect of any policies advocated by Angle, his stooges on county council and his handpicked County Executive.

The ET broke the story about Ron, Jr,'s shoplifting arrest. The ET reported Jackson's police complaint, leaving all kinds of room open for wild speculation.

    ReplyDelete
  61. "so one of the wills wasn't forged "

Nobody has reached any conclusion that ANY of these wills were forged because they weren't. The question all along has been which will is more credible. There are numerous factors that enter into that equation and that have nothing to do with forgery.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Innocent until proven guilty. But the evidence presented so far points toward forgery or something fishy. It's certainly worthy of investigation, especially having taken as much of the court's time as it has. Somebody seems to have been trying to manipulate the system. That shouldn't be countenanced.

Since we taxpayers foot the bill for their pay.

  71. Why does Waynes group hate America?

Judson Phillips, founder of Tea Party Nation, one of the country's most prominent tea party organizations, really seems to despise the Methodist Church, or as he would call it, "the first Church of Karl Marx."

In a recent blog post (subscription required) the founder of Tea Party Nation recounts his recent experience visiting the United Methodist Building in Washington D.C., where saw a promotional banner for the DREAM Act, a failed piece of legislation that would have provided a path to citizenship for some undocumented immigrants who entered the country as children.

I could never belong to a club like that as I happen to be a Methodist

Wayne, here is something to think about before you post next time

    "Most people are other people

Their thoughts are someone elses opinions

    Their lives a mimicry

    Their passions a quotation"

That could be added to Websters as

THE definition of the Tea Party

    ReplyDelete
  72. Anon 7:58, you must remember that like conspiracy theory advocates, tea party types need to have a perceived overpowering evil to survive.

The conspiracy theory folks will look to find symbols involved with the Free Masons and/or the Illuminati. If you look at anything with a foregone conclusion, it is amazing how you can make the surroundings fit your "reality".

So it is with the tea party. Many who collect retired teacher pensions, disability, unemployment comp and social security claim that these programs have been perverted, just ask them. They of course "earned" it or "deserve" it but now it is broken.

They say they have been around for some time but really only became visible after Obama was elected. They claim they are not racist yet they carried the voodoo and African tribesman caricatures of Obama. They preach a hate of government based on some idea of fiscal responsibility and limited government. Yet offer no real solutions other than shouted platitudes and Palanism's.

Sadly tough times have always created these types of groups in our country's history. They flourish when people need a "bad" guy or some "villain" or "villains" to point the finger at for all the problems. Most of their advice is usually predicated on sophomoric logic puzzles or "bumper sticker" euphemisms that would be funny if not so many people were taking them so seriously.

For the most part they hold ignorance as some sort of virtue and education as "elitism".

Eventually they will fade away as most of these reactionary type groups diminish as their world ending prophecies never come to pass.

In the meantime the best thing to do is stay on track and don't let all the "noise" distract you from the serious business of government.

I have now read Judge Braxton's opinion. He at no time concludes that the Will submitted by Angle is a "fake" or that it is fraudulent in any way. He instead concludes the Will was never executed properly and rules in favor of the most recent will before that one. So you are pretty much full of shit.

  76. Both of the Wills are very real, and the twisting here has been done by those who insist on forgery and fraud, when nothing like that is even mentioned by the Judge. The differences in the signatures might make one will more or less credible, but that's a far cry from forgery or fraud or even stating that the will is invalid.

I don't think it is a bizarre rant when someone is offended by a group that seeks to disenfranchize their chosen religion by making it unconstitutional. This country was among other things founded by people who were seeking freedom to select and obsereve their own religion. This type of rhetoric is the height of hypocrisy. These Tea Party people seem to think the Constitution is some sort of Chinese menu that they can chose only the parts that fit their agenda. All while dressing up as 1776 characters and extolling the virtue of the very document they would dismantle. I am agnostic and wouldn't think of joining a church that didn't allow consumption of meat on Fridays, or forcing people to take instruction from celibate priests on the technique of marriage, anymore than one that by the Tea Party people had accused endorses Marxism. I also wouldn't say lets make that religion unconstitutional. I think you were off base on your comment.
I guess you are obligated since your friendship runs deep with Wayne as he is always on your side on things.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Look, the suggestion that I shade my views to make them more palatable to Wayne or anyone else, is utter nonsense. I've spoken to him once, during a County Council meeting, for all of about 15 seconds. He lives in Nazareth like me, but we have never even had a cup of coffee together. And I have disagreed with Wayne as often as I have agreed with him.

What you are doing, and it is a BIG MISTAKE, is assuming that all tea parties everywhere are alike, and that people in the LV Tea Party are some sort of mindless robots who just recite verses from the Letter of Ron Paul.

I have gone to several of their meetings, as have bloggers Chris Casey and Noel Jones, and we'd all tell you that it is folly to make generalizations about the,m. They do seem whiter, older and more conservative than the norm, but they are engaged and generally very open-minded on most topics. They are certainly far more tolerant than your typical Republican or Democratic committee meeting.

And more than a few of the members are themselves atheists and agnostics.

I view them here in th LV as a grass rots effort to improve government. I disagree that cutting expenses is always the answer, but these folks are getting engaged and involved and I have high regard for people who participate in their government.

One of your fatal flaws is that you always make assumptions about the motives of people. Some people just genuinely care.

The "hypocrisy" argument can be applied to any ideology bc no one is really pure. I could use it against you.

There was a fellow who used to search titles at the courthouse who was a committed Marxist and insisted on getting arrested now and then to give himself credibility with LEPOCO. I once asked him how he could search titles for banks and attorneys and claim to be a Marxist.

"I'm just not a good Marxist," he answered. Nobody can claim to be anything 100%.

So argue the issues, but it's as silly to claim these tea party people are not true as it is to claim a Democrat is not true.

  82. Note my comment above. Right now, I'm taking a Christmas break. I'll post it, but not 'till after Christmas.

  83. "One of your fatal flaws is that you always make assumptions about the motives of people. Some people just genuinely care."

Bernie the above are your own words. I hope you read them again and apply them to yourself. I am not criticizing you but at times the above can easily be applied to your comments. You often do this to anyone who dares disagree with one of your pol heroes like Angle, Stoffa or Dent. Think of your own words before you lose it.

For example on the Gracedale matter you have really attacked people opposed to the sale. As a family member, I heard an excellent discussion by a former County official who believes and backed up with numbers reasons why Gracedale could be kept by the County. Because Angle and Team Stoffa have declared that as wrong you lash out at these people. The one's I have heard have not attacked Angle or Stoffa in their discussions. They just point out that this is an inexperienced Council who's political ideology may be getting in the way of a very important decision that needs to be fully and honestly thought out. Not the meetings where Ron Angle shouted down or interrupted anyone who had an intelligent argument.

Just a few points to ponder. May you and yours have a very Blessed Christmas!

  84. Dear "Maria" (assuming that is who you really are),

I am well aware of three former County officials - Grucela, Heckman & Seyfried - who oppose Gracedale's sale. I have in no way been critical of them and continue to hold them in high regard. In fact, I posted a complimentary blog about Grucela in recent weeks. People of good will can have different views on an issue.

My wrath is reserved for the Gracedale Goons, a few people like the phony preacher, who have spent most of their time vilifying Angle and any member of Council who does not respond to their bully tactics. They launch vicious anonymous slurs, even when it extends to Angle's family life and children. I have drawn attention to their idiotic behavior and will continue to do so.

I can have a constructive dialogue with someone who wants to discuss this issue on its merits. But that is impossible with fanatics who insist God is on their side, or who claim that the only positive press piece about Angle in the past year must have been written by me,

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
