More of Callahan's "Jobs Plan"

Check this out. Gee, how did he miss on that Congressman gig?

  1. Not sure what you mean Bernie, congressman gig?

Perhaps he does have a set of balls (well actually all of his lady friends already know that) but it does take balls to lay someone off!

Where is Charlie in reducing the size of our federal government?

  2. Callahan's jobs plan is to lay people off. You're right, that does take brass balls.

  3. Cunningham cuts jobs and you think he did a good job.

Callahan needs to cut jobs to stop a tax hike and you criticize.

    Seems a bit hypocritical.

  4. 1) Cunningham never claimed to have a "jobs plan."

    2) Cunningham never laid people off. He reduced his workforce via attrition.

The hypocrite here is Callahan. He claims to be able t create jobs like some kind of magician, but can't even keep his own people.

  5. Apples and Oranges.

Jobs plan as Congressional Candidate on a federal level.

Job Cuts as Mayor of Bethlehem on a local level.

You can't compare them. And to do so shows your bias towards Callahan.

Dent has never been in a Executive position, so he never had to make the tough decisions.

Also, the majority of Callahan's cuts are through early retirement and attrition.

And Cunningham did lay off a few people.

  6. No he did not. He eliminated their jobs but found other places for them in the County.

  7. Am I wrong, but didn't Angles budget call for the loss of 60 jobs? And that was a genius idea.

  8. Bernie your completely rediculous. Mayor Callahan is making the tough decisions that a leader has to make. He is cutting positions and improving process within the city to make up for the differences.

You and your band of hypocrits painted him as a tax and spend liberal when he is a fiscal conservative. He makes the needed cuts for a ballanced budget and you play it off like it somehow went against his Jobs plan. Read the information, our cities are strugling and goverrnment has to face the same challenges as business, but without the opportunity for additional profit centers.

You have truly gone way over the edge...Dent won, we get it now wake the F up and try and be part of the solution.

  9. Over the past year O'Hare has gone completely around the bend. He has lost it, particularly with his hero's Dent and Angle.

He was always biased but now he is just batshit insanely nutz!

  10. He missed it alright!! And thank god!

  11. I have to agree that it is Callahan and our other two Democratic Mayors in the valley that are the trus fiscal conservatives. Dent is a legislator - state and federal -- of which he talks and talks and barely passes laws, yet you think he is amazing.

I have an idea, let's send Callahan, Panto and Pawlowski to Washington for a week and see how much they can cut from the federal budget. They are making tough decisions and cuts everyday on the local level as the "trickle down" has become nothing more than "trickle on" local government.

It's a known fact that the best Governors are former mayors or executives and the best presidents are former governors. Why? Because they have to balance their budgets EVERY YEAR!

  12. We need a level playing field to have this discussion. When an elected official reports that he's creating jobs in gov't, many people state that job creation 'doesn't count' if they are gov't jobs. Job creation means private sector jobs. Not defending Callahan here, but aren't we talking apples and oranges? Isn't the holy grail to reduce unnecesary govt jobs due to decreases in tax revenue and increase private sector jobs? Should that be the standard we hold elected officials to?

  13. Allow me to help :

    "Bernie YOU ARE completely RIDICULOUS"

    "HYPOCRITE"

And, thank you for demonstrating all that Progressive Liberal Democrat money thrown at education all these years really has not achieved squat.

    But, hey, why quit now?

  14. I don't think it's an apples and oranges comparison. Government does not create job, except in government itself. Callahan did claim to have a jobs plan, yet has laid people off. I have no problem with a decision to eliminate unfilled jobs or offer early retirements. I do not even have a problem with eliminating jobs held by cabinet officials, as Angle wanted to do. Those are political appointments. But I do have a problem with an absentee Bethlehem Mayor who balances his budget by laying people off.

  15. read the Fn Plan....its not about growing government. its about making the environment right for individuals to start business. Mayor callahan is doing exactly what he should, smaller government and creating a business environment for more private sector investment.

Are you saying he should keep people on the books of the city? are you saying he should hire more city workers. Bernie, what the F do you want? you cant call him big government tax and spend....then nail him for not raising taxes and laying of government employees and consolidating the work force. Get your head out of where it is please

  16. "read the Fn Plan....its not about growing government. its about making the environment right for individuals to start business."

The first point of the plan raises taxes! some plan. no wonder the boy Mayor garnered a mere 39% in an overwhelmingly Dem district. This might have been the worst run campaign by what turned out to be a pathetic candidate in the country.

  17. No the first point is to bring taxes back to where they were before bush ruined our country. You remember back when we had a surplus instead of deficits. Giving money to the top two percent of your population who have over half your nations wealth does nothing but make them richer. Trickle down does not work! Most of these people think greed is good, and anyone who is not rich did not work hard enough even though most is inherited wealth.

  18. "No the first point is to bring taxes back to where they were before bush ruined our country."

Right, since if we tax these companies more, both the taxes and the jobs will come back to the US. Get real, Open you eyes. Taxing more is not the answer. High corporate taxes are the reason the jobs and money is overseas in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yet again you try to skew the statement to confuse people....the tax plan is about helping small business, you know the ones who will actually create jobs here in the US....no major corporation is going to bring manufacturing back to the US until it is in their shareholders best interest....

  20. Really Bernie? Angle wanted to reduce the cabinet positions. So why is the assistant Director of Administration, an old Stoffa double-dipping buddy, still there. He's a hallwalker. Hallwalkers in Human Resources and Human Services, enough bullshit O'Hare.

  21. Taxes are lower today on the wealthiest Americans than they have been in 70 years. We are in a terrible fix with deficits and no jobs. Yet doing more of the same will solve it.

When the corporate gods make wishes, you people are the answer to their prayers.

  22. "When the corporate gods make wishes, you people are the answer to their prayers"

This is the problem with you partisan Dems. The results of this last election have demonstrated that the people do not believe in your "corporate boogie-man" strategy. If all you have is bashing industry after industry, you will continue to suffer stunning defeats.

Big oil (oh that didnt work), Wall Street (nope, still not working), Big Insurance (wow, apparently the American people arent that stupid), Big Corporations (nope).... The list goes on and on. Until you put forth solutions that arent based in factless demagoguery, you will continue to garner 39% in a majority Democrat Congressional District.

    ReplyDelete
  23. LOL this is just too funny. So the Dems have a monopoly on "factless demagoguery". How did we get from surplus to deficit? How has deregulation during the Bush era help to create jobs or get the trade inballance corrected. All that happened was the stock market crashed, Oil rigs caused disasters, the housing market tanked (can blame bubba for this partly). We now have a system where people distrust both parties. The election was not a rebuke of Obama as much as a show of distain for the overall system. I was an R switched to a D during Bush years and now feel completely lost.
