Horton Plays the Malcolm X Card

Referring to himself as El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, Malcolm X was certainly a controversial figure. He preached that the "white man" is "the devil" or "common enemy" Martin Luther King? He was the man's "stooge." So it's no great surprise that many consider X a racist. But Malcolm X is Michael Horton's hero. At least that's what he led the Easton NAACP to believe on Tuesday night.

I saw Horton on Tuesday night. I was on my way to Hanover Township while he was en route to an NAACP meet 'n greet. We both had made pit stop at Panera's on 512, which is one of my secret blogging lairs.

I never made it to Easton, but spoke to several people who did. I'm also told the event was filmed. That's odd because, at this time last year, the NAACP prevented me from filming Julio Guridy and King Edwin, claiming no cameras are permitted at their functions.

Hcorton, of course, pandered to the black voter, telling them "They tried to deny you the right to vote, you know what I mean," and "They are making you apathetic, you know what I mean." Then he pointed to his glasses and claimed he wears them in honor of Malcolm X. And of course, at one point, he wiped a tear.

Now maybe he's sincere, but I doubt it. You see, he's never mentioned his fondness for Malcolm X during his encounters with white voters.

  1. Why should he , a white Honky like you wouldn't care. And he knows damn well you work for the racist Ron Angle, who wants to ship African Americans back to Africa.

Yea O'Hare you are a real civil rights hero.

What an insult. Are blacks so weak willed "they" can make blacks apathetic? And what's with the "they" stuff, Bernie? You'd call a white politician for such racist remarks. Outrageous.

Since you're good at investigative reporting, obviously by the excellent political reports you file here,
who is paying for outgoing Karen Beyer's lunch meetings today and Sat. One is at the Coopersburg Diner, other at Allentown and close personal Pawlowski friend and former city worker, Louie's. Is Beyer legally allowed to use taxpayer money to pay for these tear jerk events? Thanks. She doesn't know how to lose gracefully. That's for sure.

  5. This week Horton sent a dog collar imagery ad to potential voters. What's he trying to say? His
neighbors are animals? He's into human bondage? What?

  6. Maybe Horton got lost, cause last time we looked, his campaign district is no where near Easton, but let's not tell him.

  7. It's also not in Philadelphia. So why does he have fundraisers in Philly?

  8. His latest mailers say Simmons is going to cut Social Security, Medicare, and roll back the Medicare drug benefit. The Democrats must have a standard playbook on what to do when a candidate is losing bad... Claim extremist support and scare old people about Social Security. Hey Mike you read the wrong section you are running for the state house not congress! This guy is clueless.

  13. Malcolm X is a hero to many numbskulls who wear hats and T-shirts celebrating the racist, much like the idiots who walk around with their Che Guevarra garb without a clue that the he was a monstrous, murderous psychopath.

They are also typically liberal democrats who prop up the racsim strawman and who believe being hip, cool and trendy mean more than the ultimate result of their vote.

That's how Odummy got elected. Horton's just following the same playbook.

  14. A constable's job description seems to require duties that bring pain, suffering and fear to families and individuals. Why would a West Point graduate want to do work like that when he could be a Fortune 500 executive? Why hasn't one Lehigh Valley news reporter asked that simple question?

  15. What happened with Horton's house sale tax issue?

  16. Horton's VP credentials come from the companies motivational tactics. You get a job with Merril Lynch like he did and sell some products to your friends and family and they make you a VP, along with 9000 others. That makes you commit more and it gives you credibilty with new clients since you're now a VP. Only problem is if you don't keep selling you lose your title and job, like he did.

  17. Horton's flyers over and over have emphasized his work experience but oddly nowhere have they or Horton
offered any explanation why he did not pay taxes!
Give voters a fresh, forthright candidate like Simmons any day. Harrisburg needs new perspectives to
create more positive government and taxpayer relationships.

I would. I'd be a little stronger if I were there and had seen it myself.
