A Spunky Reporter

At the end of last night's Northampton County Council meeting, they all went into executive session to discuss potential litigation concerning the Bethlehem TIF. Now, Council Prez Angle had tried to talk about it publicly, but suddenly reversed course and decided he'd better do it behind closed doors, and off they went.

Morning Call reporter Jenna Portnoy, attending her first Council meeting, was on her feet in an instant. She flew up to the dais and blasted Solicitor Phil Lauer, telling him he was supposed to announce the reason for the executive session. She was right, too! He did make amends.

You go, girl!

  7. Bernie, an honest question, when did Phil Lauer become council's solicitor, I thought he was one of Mr. Angle's attorneys, does this constitute a conflict? Carol

  8. Carol, Phil was one of Angle's attorneys in some matters. After getting the gig on Council, he stopped representing Ron BC it would be a conflict.
