  2. Well we all know there is an awful lot of political posturing over this because of the upcoming elections.

Rangel has been screaming since August (after 2 years of investigation) that the hearings take place ASAP. That didn't happen because of political games.

Let's go back to an article already posted in August by 'Citizens For Ethics': Why ethics hearings only now? ..
"In September 2008, Rangel himself asked the House Ethics Committee to investigate the numerous allegations of ethical violations swirling around him all summer... Given that the Ethics Committee was made aware of Rangel’s violations no later than September 2008 and Waters’ by June 2009, why is the committee making its findings public now?

I'll answer that.. PHONY BALONEY POLITICS!

Want to know what's really odd? According to The Hill (Sept. 08, 2010)
"House Republican leaders won’t say whether they will scrap an ethics office if they regain the majority this fall... The Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE), was established by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in 2008... All GOP leaders vigorously opposed the OCE’s creation and tried to defeat the measure establishing it with a series of parliamentary tactics [in 2008]... many political observers believe the OCE will be disbanded should Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) become Speaker next year.

Yeah they all like it now, eh? But if they should be in charge they don't want this to come back and bite them in the ass do they ?

  3. BTW: That 1st article also said..
" In the 1990s, ethics charges were filed simply to score political points. In an effort to step back, both parties agreed to a truce, and no ethics complaints were filed. This left members largely unaccountable -- no matter how egregious their conduct. It led to the scandals involving former House majority leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) and super lobbyist Jack Abramoff, moving ethics back to the front burner.

So now the GOP that uses this OCE (created by the Demos) to hammer those who created it.. Hey, Demo's. talk about shooting yourself in the foot! No good deed...

  4. @3:31,
The Demos are now screaming to abolish the OCE!!! Talk about irony. From draining the swamp, to drowning in it.

  6. That's always been the problem with D's. R's kick their losers out, D's whore themselves.

If Charlie Manson could delivered a new entitlement program, they'd get him paroled.
