Gracedale Update: AFSCME, County to Meet Thursday
Today, at 3 PM, Gracedale workers will meet in the gazebo to propose concessions that will reduce County operating costs.
On Thursday afternoon, AFSCME - which represents the lion's share of Gracedale workers - will sit down with the John Stoffa administration and two Council members. Lamont McClure had agreed to participate in these negotiations at last week's Council meeting, but now that his audience is gone, he's lost interest. As a Council member who's missed three meetings in a row, that's no surprise.
Council Prez Ron Angle has reportedly replaced McClure with Peg Ferraro, the Council member who stated both sides need to work together.
I hope they leave the rat at home.
Update (9:30 AM): McClure now Coming after all. Perhaps embarrassed by this blog, McClure has reversed himself and will attend Thursday's meeting.

I feel bad for the union. This is a set-up by Angle/Stoffa. The end result was decided months ago by the Administration, this is ll window dressing.
ReplyDeleteSad time for Northampton County.

ReplyDeleteYour baseless allegations prove that your argument is without merit.

I do have a suggestion. When County Council does vote on whether to sell Gracedale or not, the session should be held up in Gracedale's auditorium. That way, the Council members can look at the residents directly in the eye and vote what is best for the County.
make the greedy union pukes bleed
ReplyDelete"I feel bad for the union."
ReplyDeleteWell, there's one who does.
Funny that the county says they have no money....then why are they paying to have perfectly good concrete sidewalks torn up? These sidewalk were installed a few years ago during the court house expansion. What an abuse of county funds!!! Sure enough though when all those union contracts expire at the end of this year the county will say....we have no money to pay you peasants. Things that make ya go hmmm...
ReplyDeleteAnon 8:39 you are right- a waste of money thanks to the inept Reibman administration. The sidewalk was a mess and now we have to pay for it twice. Regardless Gracedale is a money pit and has to go.
ReplyDeleteThe old game-plan, do stupid things and keep blaming the past Administration. Stoffa has no cohesive plan one job is the same as another. Sell Gracedale change sidewalks.
ReplyDeleteThis guy is as clueless today as he was five years ago.
The only thing that has to go is the Angle/Stoffa government of no competence and no vision.
A sad chapter for the County.
So, your fly on the walls tell us any good news about the meetting?
