  1. Ordinarily, I delete the spam posted by Villa, but I'm going to leave these two comments up. They are a testament to his complete disregard for the pain and suffering of others. It's all about him. His reaction to the unfortunate and really sad loss of a 13 year-old boy is to spam someone's blog. I'll let these comments stand so people can see the monster he's become, although most already know.

  2. Bernie,

Did I read the news article correctly? Someone posted on Youtube a video of this accident.

All of the parties involved in this matter will be in my prayers tonight. May he rest in peace.

Yes, someone did post this on
You-tube. I now have to convince my son that it wouldn't be a good idea for him to view it. He was a good friend with the boy during gradeschool.

It was a terrrible accident from a stupid game that the neighborhood kids have been involved in. Hopefully the others will learn from this and stop the game immediately.

I normally don't sign my name to any posts, but since I directly wrote back to you I will (at least partially).

Chuck (think back to your days at the Courthouse).

  5. Unfortunately, these unnecessary and tragic accidents become teaching tools. What an unfortunate way to learn or teach a lesson.

When I was a child, my father sat me down for an unexpected lecture on drug use. If I remember correctly, it was the day after the NBA (National Basketball Association) draft. Lenny Bias was drafted to play for the Boston Celtics. The next day he died from complications due to cocaine consumption.

That kid was sitting on top of the world. And in one split second and a bad decision, he was dead. A lot of people claim that was his first time using drugs. And irregardless if it was or wasn't, it still was a tragic loss.

I don't know the particulars of this bicycle accident, but if there are any lessons to be learned; let them be taught. Hopefully, our youth will respond.

Tell everyone that I say, "Hello." And may you and your family have a fruitful and perfecting Lent and a Happy Easter.

    Peace, ~~Alex+

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
