Last month, I told you about Pia Varma, a Republican challenger to Congressman Bob Brady in Philly. Despite an electrifying video, she's been booted off the ballot, the victim of a petition challenge waged by Brady. His attorney mockingly referred to her as the "Sarah Palin of Philadelphia."You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.

ReplyDeletePia Varma is no Sarah Palin in any way shape and form. Sarah Palin is a neo-conservative who ignores the Constitution when convenient and likes Foreign Interventionist/War Mongering like Iraq, and I believe has no core values except what is politically pragmatic, and though she has beauty looks like a dog next Pia.
ReplyDeletePia, on the other hand, is a Constitutionalist, Libertarian who believes that our nation should adhere to the top Law of our land aka the Constitution (which both parties ignore when it suits them, which is quite often)and abhors Foreign Interventionist/War Mongering (that both parties adhere to, even when their rhetoric says the opposite).
Pia is for the Individual Liberty of all people as individuals, not Liberty only for select groups, like only for the rich, only for the poor, only for the whites, only for the blacks, only for the straights, only for the gays - Liberty, and equality under the Law for all individuals as individuals. No special favors or rights for any group.
Brady is a corrupt fear monger who is as bad for the left as Palin is for the right. You would have been lucky to get Pia as your member in congress.
