LANTA Mourns 13 Year-Old Easton Boy Fatally Struck By Bus

At LANTA's web page, a small candle flickers for Robert Mitchell, the 13 year-old boy who lost his life yesterday when his out-of-control bike slammed into the front right corner of a LANTA bus traveling along Easton's Northampton Street.

LANTA's Board Chairman, Fred Williams, and Executive Director Armando V. Greco were at last night's Northampton County Council meeting to present a new transportation plan. But before doing so, Chairman Fred Williams said this:

"Our thoughts and our prayers go out for this young boy, his parents and his family, and also the driver who was involved in this tragic event. It's a difficult time for all the people that are involved. But on behalf of the board of directors, the drivers, the staff of LANTA, we all mourn the loss of this young man and his tragic event."
