Back to Blogger Comments

In the course of going back and forth between two commenting systems - Blogger and DISQUS, I seem to have confused everyone. So I am reverting to Blogger as the one and only way to comment. I will delete the trolls.

7 comments:

  1. Stay with Disqus - the previous 2 posts show why.

  2. Banker, the previous two comments, plus the 1 AM hate message, are gone.

Teo people have sent me emails, confessing confusion over the way I was going back and forth between DISQUS and blogger. Although my intention was to break it in slowly, it appears I just got everyone mixed up. So I decided to stick w/ Blogger for now, as it is easier to comment there and I get notified right away. Disqus is just a little harder and does not notify me right away about a comment. Blogger will attract more trolls, but it will be far easier to attract a troll.

Villa, of course, spams this blog bc he wants to shut it down. Same with the 3 AM troll, who blames Stoffa for everything.

  3. It is the only way you will get conversation on topics.

  4. Good because I hate the ways those trolls smell, vile, filthy little creatures hovering over their keyboard slobbering while they spew hate and venom.

  5. Hang tough, Bernie. You have the most freewheeling and robust local blog and they know it. This poster rarely agrees with you. But I've learned that this is the place to go to truly get all sides. They know this, too. This space is a combination train wreck and masterpiece. Just like our great nation.

  6. I love that - combination train wreck and masterpiece.

    Thanks for the nice words.

  7. You don't love the truth. That is why you delete anything that doesn't suck manjuice from you or your mancrushes.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
