Grucela Decides Against Seeking ReElection

Capitol Ideas reports that Rich Grucela, my own state representative, has decided against seeking re-election to the state house. This opens the door to recently defeated Northampton County Council member Charles Dertinger.

  1. I nominate Joe Capozzolo for the job! Let the criticism begin

  2. Why not Angle?

He can then hold three incompatible elected positions.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Joe Cap? I'm not so sure that is a good idea. Let's not be rash. Let's sleep on it and look at some other worthy individuals in the morning!

  4. Joe Cap is a Republican hand puppet for Ron Angle. Dertinger is a Democrat as is Grucela.

  5. HAHAHA, at this moment Steve Barron is shiting in his pants. HAHAHA!!!

  6. "HAHAHA, at this moment Steve Barron is shiting in his pants. HAHAHA!!!"

    Explain?

    ReplyDelete
  7. The Problem with Dertinger is he won 1 election out of 5. The Republicans will probably run Joe Emrick again. Joe will beat Charles! Will the Democrats lose again? First County Council now this.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Joe Emrick is a good friend of mine and I knew for 2 months that Joe was running.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Joe Emrick is running and will beat Joe Cap or Charles Dertinger. He will also be an independent voice in the Statehouse.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Is your refrigerator running?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Grucela knows he would get killed in 2010. His District will go Republican big time. No need denying it, this was a political decision.

Of course as one door closes another one opens. I know what you are saying anon 7:31, yeah I bet little Steve is not to happy.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Why is Steve Barron upset about this? He does not even live in that district.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Steve Barron lives in Bethlehem, which is ot a part of Ric's district. I do not know why Rich has decided against running, but doubt very much he is afraid of being beaten. He was very well regarded in this district, and was terrific at constituent service. He had some great ideas, too, like a unicameral legislature.

I am sorry to hear he is bowing out. Whoever runs for his seat has some big shoes to fill, even if Rich was a little guy.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Good riddance to one of the most arrogant seat fillers ever to slop the trough and fish for pensions. He represents everything wrong with public officials.

PA has gained by subtraction. And now he retires on the public tit where's he's sucked his entire life. Let us learn from the mistakes we made by enabling this very poor example of a public servant.

    ReplyDelete
  15. How about that loafer Freeman next? Remember his invisibility and lack of availability as he participated in cementing PA reputation for having the country's worst legislature? He's been part of the problem for a very long time. He's Grucela with a more quiet arrogance and a BIG pension. Enough.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Dems are diving like rats from the Titanic. Freeman may as well have been dead for the last ten years. In fact, I demand he actually do something to prove he's alive. He's like a legislative version of Weekend At Bernie's. No, not your place. It isn't always about you.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Well, it sure as hell isn't about Ron Shegda.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Rich may be leaving the PA House but he is not retiring. There is a political race in his future.

    ReplyDelete
  19. "Joe Emrick is running and will beat Joe Cap or Charles Dertinger. He will also be an independent voice in the Statehouse."

Which pretty much means he will be a single term rep.

Independent voices get squashed in the PA Legislature in a big hurry... "Sorry, there are no offices available and, no, we won't reimburse you for running your office from a hotel room" - sad to say, but so true. When brainless wonders like Julie Harhart can actually be part of the R power structure, there's no hope for anybody with a brain.

    ReplyDelete
  20. What will he be remembered for ? Ican`t think of anything he did....

    ReplyDelete
  21. I gues Barron will have to rethink his political future.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Like Stoffa, Grucela is a lifetime public employee who has lived in the artifical world of the public tit his entire working life.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Grucela's a lazy career taker. Haven't we given him enough?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Joe Cap went back to a Bangor Boro Council meeting and asked council to put his 2 acres behind CVS back into the KOZ zone so he could sell them, (I guess it was easier for him to sell the land for CVS when it was KOZ,) now that he is not on either council.Great public servant

    ReplyDelete
  25. Thats what makes Joe Cap the perfect choice. He has been working in the private sector. Has run a successful business. No govt pension, or teachers perks.
What does Joe Emrick do? Teacher?

    ReplyDelete
  26. The developement of the former Florey Milling site is a tremendous advantage to what it was. If Joe Cap did that, he diserves our gratitude. That place was the ugliest area in Bangor for 20 years. Run Joe! & keep up the great work you do for Veterans!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Joe Cap..business inherited..so so mayor..wtf has he really done? Yes..he helped get the veterans outreach site going..what else? The rest of the page is blank because he did NOTHING!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Getting the federal govt to establish a Veterans outreach clinic is NOTHING? You obviously are not a vet. You also dont understand what it takes to do something on a NATIONAL basis. Check the congressional report from the testimony Joe Cap gave.

Bottom line, if Joe Capozzolo can accomplish all he did to help veterans, the State Rep job should be a breeze.

My question is, What have the other candidates done?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Joe Cap inherited his business (windjammer Inc.)? Dont tell his father or his sister. Since all 3 of them run it.
Windjammer also happens to be the ONLY garment mill left in the slate belt after 100's went out of business. They must be doing something right.

    DantheMann

    ReplyDelete
  30. 100's of mills? We only had about five if that many! He employs maybe 10 people. I give him credit for the clinic and YES I am a veteran..thank you! This makes him a state rep. candidate? Keep looking!

  31. Grucela is the guy who publicly berated a constituent on this blog accusing him of never doing a public service in his/her entire life. Of course, this is without knowing who the person was. I agree that he was arrogant and suckling the teat of the taxpayer for too long. They call it "too big for their britches" I think.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Grucela plans to teach courses at ESU. Triple dipping!

Emrick will be a great addition to the State House. He will not be a lapdog.

    ReplyDelete
  33. That person, who was probably you, should have been publicly berated. That person had just finished slamming Wayne Grube, who had recently passed and was Grucela's closest friend.

My estimation of Grucela, which was already high, shot up after your miserable remarks, you sick bastard. And if an asshole like you is supporting Emrick, I'll vote for his opponent just for that reason, even if it is Dertinger.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Wayne Grube was called a sleepy spendthrift politician who thought outrageous cost overruns were fine because the finished product was "nice."

The thin-skinned Grucela went over the top and provided a rare glimpse of his real self. Many had long surmised he held taxpayers in contempt. His response to a political charge against a wasteful spender verified it.

    ReplyDelete
  35. To anon 9:12
Yes 100's of mills. In 1980 The Atlantic Apparel Association had over 400 members. It was based in Wind Gap. look it up

a Real Slater (there's nothing greater than a Slater)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Your full of it..there were never that many mills..I've lived here all my life..stop the BS!

    ReplyDelete
  37. It wasn't me. If it were, I'd be even more upset as I've done more REAL public service than any politician would ever dream of doing. It is telling when a politician lashes out at a person's community involvement without having knowing his ass from his elbow.

    ReplyDelete
  38. State legislators are the absolute lowest level of opportunist parasites.

    ReplyDelete
  39. So Dertinger and Long are in?

    ReplyDelete
  40. God Bless Charles!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Why would Long be in? Grucela is already planning his next run for office.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Joe Cap? You've got to be kidding!LOSER

    ReplyDelete
  43. Joe Cap is an Angle handpuppet and will never get the Democratic nomination.

    ReplyDelete
  44. You guys taking shots at Freeman have NO CLUE! He is one of the most decent and hardworking public servants in the truest sense of the word that any of you troglodytes could ever hope to meet -- so, shut up!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Freeman has been glued to his seat in the United State's worst legislature for 87 or so years (who the hell knows it's been so long).

He was so quiet during the budget debacle - always supporting higher and higher taxes - that many constituents were certain he'd died.

We can't go on like this any longer. The Freemans and Grucelas of the legislature have to be held responsible and sent packing into the sunset with their lush pensions. Don't worry about affable Bob. He'll land softly in some politically connected no show job. The bridge commission has his name all over it. He could work in some building they name after him for all of years of giving us service (wink to all the farmers out there). Enough. Enough. Enough.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Freeman will never leave his seat. He went once and tried the State Semnate and blew it. He got a handout jov from the Dem's until he got back in the legislature.

As long as the Express keeps drinking his man juice and praise him as the second coming he can stay in that seat as long as he wants.

Bob is a nice guy but would agree he is not very effective.

  47. JOE CAP #1 vote getter 2010

    ReplyDelete
  48. Who is this Albanese guy? Where has he been hiding all these years? Shaking hands with Reagan?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Never heard of him. Who is he?

    ReplyDelete
  50. I wonder who approached mr. Albanse to run. maybe nick sabatine? if not him than who.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Another carpet bagger moving in from Jersey to teach as country folk the right way.
The right way is back where they came from, Dertinger, and Albonese

    ReplyDelete
  52. Bernie, Don Albanese is married to a Bangor Girl and has been living in Bangor for years.

    ReplyDelete
  53. And that makes him qualified, how?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Anonymous 9:05, someone questioned as to who Don was, I just simply explained who he was, Carol

    ReplyDelete
  55. angle is the puppet

    ReplyDelete
  56. Joe Emerick is clearly the Best guy for the job. The rest are a gang of leaches looking for a free ride. Politicans are not needed here, a leader and doer is. I would like to see if any of these fags could do an honest days work. This is a game to these asses. Gimmie a free car a free office and a secretary that will do all my work. Maybe she'll even let them cop afeel. This is BULLSH%T.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Freeloaders ! All of them!

    ReplyDelete
  58. With supporters like Anon 6:55, Emrick will lose. What a nasty piece of shit you are.

    ReplyDelete
  59. To 6:55 ,no this is not Bulls#$$ this is Politics. Joe Emrick does not need this fool. 6:55 stay away!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Joe Capozzolo is looking better all the time. Joe seems like he really is intrested in the people and what is best for all. I like him, my mother likes him. That is a good place to start. Bernie you are a @%&*! but you do a good job here.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I heard that Mr. Capozzolo has a great business savy.I looked into this and it appears to be true.Joe Cap gets results. See for yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I've had Grucela's son as my teacher, so he must be an awesome politician if he raised such an awesome son! :D
