Is Dertinger Running For For Norco Council or Grucela's Seat?

If you think Charles Dertinger is running for re-election to Northampton County Council, think again. His sights are set on Harrisburg, land of midnight payraises. Twenty-four hour finance reports, filed late last week, reveal he's given the Pa. Demcratic Party $6,000 for a mailer. It's insufficient to fund a county-wide mailer, but good enough to target voters in a specific geographic area. Charles has also spent $3,334.79 on robo calls.

Believe it or not, I've received Dertinger's factually challenged mailer. Two of his robo calls have wasted minutes on my cell phone, too. Dertinger has told several people, who shall remain nameless, that his campaign is focused on State Rep. Rich Grucela's district. He apparently views himself as Grucela's heir apparent.

Is Dertinger relying on the same rocket scientists who engineered Ann McHale's disaster in Northampton County? I certainly hope so.

  1. GO Charles. We love you.

  2. I have been getting the Charles! robo calls, as well as those from Wally G, whose robo message sounds eerily like Dertinger's in talking points...such a patronizing "honor" it (would be) to "serve" us.

  3. Is Grucela not seeking re-election next time around? If he is, your post might be "interesting" to him.

  4. So far as I know, Grucela is running, but I am sure this post will be "interesting" to him no matter how he feels.

  5. Rich knows that Charles is the most logical person to become the next State legislator. I also received Charles' mailer and found it honest and informative.

He only listed 10 reasons to elect him but there are many more.

Charles will be the top vote getter and will continue to be an asset and friend to the employees as well as all County citizens.

  6. Charles is a friend to unions, who finance his campaigns, and to Charles. He is no friend to the taxpayer. I have listed 10 reasons why he should be dumped and could list many more.

One of them is a general suspicion of candidates who always have their eyes on another seat. he was just elected when he decided on a ridiculous run for Congress. Now it's state rep. Voters should retire him so this faithless politician, as The Morning Call described him, can concentrate on those races.

  7. Unfair shot at Charles. He is no different than Barron who is using the Controllers office as a platform for another higher office.

Be fair Ohare. They are both New Dem's and Party officials looking to move on.

  8. Whichever seat CHARLES! can do the least damage is the best for him.

  9. Go, Charles! Go!

    Please Go!

    Just Leave!

    Get out of here!

I don't think I can get any clearer. We don't want you! Leave!

  10. Grucela's only leaving if he can fall into another do-nothing job with a lucrative pension. His carcass will have to be pried from that seat.

  11. Be patient, Charles. Lord knows Harrisburg could really use you and your associate's degree in industrial relations.

  12. another robocall from Charlie.

That means two votes against Charlie. I'll go out this afternoon and convince someone to vote against him.

Stop the robocalls or pay the price at the polls.

And if I get any robocalls with Ed, lisa or sal endorsements, I'll find four votes against you.

    Stop the robocalls.

  15. I would support Charles over Rich. Charles is not about the money or pensions. Charles is about the service to the public.
