Citing personal reasons, Easton title insurance agent Tony Sortino has dropped out of the race for the magisterial district covering Tatamy, Forks and Palmer Townships. Tony was the Democratic nominee. Ass't DA Jackie Taschner won the Republican nod.You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
Too bad. This R thinks he's a class guy.

The answer to my question is, barring a successful write-in campaign by someone else, Jackie would get the post. Again, thanks alot, smartass.

ReplyDeleteI have heard from a reliable source that the reason he withdrew was due to not passing the required test (2x) and being able to be certified.
ReplyDeleteIn Mr. Sortino's defense I know more then a few people who failed or didn't pass the first time out. The test consists of essay and is very strict and open to very harsh review for correctness by the AOPC, ( which it should be IMO)
I am sorry to see him withdraw as he seems like an honest and stand up guy.
Jackie is also a full class act and the voters really couldn't lose with either candidate.
I know why Tony pulled out and it has nothing to do with his certification. He has a personal matter right now that demands a lot of his time, more than he can devote to a campaign. I will not go beyond that.
