Diane Neiper Confirms "Imminent" Resignation

A month ago, I told you that Diane Neiper will soon be resigning from Northampton County Council. At the end of last night's meeting, she confirmed she will resign as soon as she can settle on a new home in Camp Hill, closer to her loved ones. "We are feverishly packing."

Neiper will be the sixth member to have departed over the last three years. Council will once again be left with four Democrats and four Republicans. At election time, too!

Whoopee!

  1. Diane is "feverishly packing" to get on that lifeboat. Women and children first. We can hear the violins playing on deck. Sayonara, folks. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

  2. It's good to hear there are politicians who will put family first, above being party mouth-pieces. Good for her! Best Wishes.

  3. Council has operated so well with her on it. What a devastating loss. Now council won't get anything done. Oh wait, they didn't with Diane either.

  8. How considerate of Diane.
Now instead of attending Northampton County Council meetings, she can stay home.

  9. Diane had such great potential until she joined the Dillinger gang[Mc Cloor and Dertinger] She then became a do nothing but critize everyone Council member. She does deserve credit for resurrecting Human Services from no man`s land. Now that she is going it will end up back on the shelf

  10. Say what you will about her, I didn't agree with her myself, but she was a hard worker, like Cusick. Actually, could have used more like her and less of McClure/Dertinger no-shows.

  11. What backshelf did she save Human Services from? She spent all her time pushing the Health Department.
She hasn't done a thing about the Human Services deficit.

  12. I think Heckman should go for the interim. At least he knows something.

  13. Does anybody know where Ron is ? How many jobs has he had so far in Lehigh County ? I`ve heard that you can never find him. I`m sure he`d be perfect... if you could find him

  14. Annon 12:27, Nice shot at Heckman from an anonymous coward. I called and spoke to him a couple times. If you have some shot to take, come out and make it.

    Are you a New Dem.

  15. Diane did as much for Human Services as Dirtinger did for OPen Space. Nothing.
