Seen the IronPigs yet? If you've never been to a game, now's your lucky chance.You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.

ReplyDeleteIt will be most interesting to see total attendance figures for the SECOND year.
Don't get me wrong, I attended 5 games last year, had a great time, and expect to go at least as often this year.
The numbers were VERY good last year, year two and beyond represent a greater challenge.
Many tickets were sold last year to curiosity seekers from Reading, Scranton, Philadelphia, Triple A fans from other states, and of course, locals. All MIGHT have had such a good time that they'll return. Only time will tell.
If you haven't been to an Iron Pigs game, I suggest you DO give it a try. It's a good night out, well run, and surely a plus for our community.

The IronPigs were collectively stomped 39-13 in losing all four games to open this season in less than hospitable weather for baseball, to be polite.
In case anyone is curious, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs drew 30,037 fans to the first four games EVER at Coca-Cola Park last year.
This year, the IronPigs drew 32,113 fans to the first four ball games.
Last year's weather was far superior if I remember correctly.
