David Haines: A Fighter Pilot on Norco Council?

Imagine the dogfights with Northampton County's Bulldog, Ron Angle, if council appoints this former fighter pilot. Northampton area resident David Haines is a Naval Academy grad who later flew for Delta. He's also an at-large Dem delegate in East Allen Township who promises he will not seek the position in 2010. This gentleman has been a volunteer at the Northampton Food Bank, an assistant soccer coach at Northampton High School and a Deacon at St. John's UCC in Howertown.

Unfortunately, after reciting these impressive credentials, Haines blows everything by stating that his "skill sets" are perfect if "the duty of government is to serve its citizens effectively and honorably." What I've noticed is a council intent on doing quite the opposite.

  1. Bernie,
Thanks for the heads up on the posting and the warm welcome to the wonderful world of Lehigh Valley politics!
As a note of correction, I am "currently" a Boeing-777 International Captain and an at-large committee member, not a delegate, in East Allen Twsp.
I'll consider your commentary a compliment, understanding that any added sense of professionalism and decorum to Council may be detrimental to your future blogging.
    Best Regards,
    David Haines
