Election Day Lunch at Kate's

Kate's Main St. Garden Cafe is Nazareth's best-kept secret, a touch of elegance in the land of scrapple. Her breakfasts are probably the best in the Lehigh Valley, and I snuck in there this morning for a bite. She's come up with a few Election Day lunches.

"The Maverick," of course, is a big turkey sandwich, with the international flavor of Swiss Cheese and Russian dressing.

"That One," which I assume is the Obama special, is lots of ham, peppered with salami and provolone in a tight little wrap.

Kate must be voting for Nader.

    Ew?

Bernie, sorry. Frankly I'm stunned she lets you in the door.

The coffee is usually pretty good too. Oops. Sorry. There's another secret out there.

  6. She also has loose leaf teas, but don't tell anyone.

She has a special roon just for me. I sit behind her restaurant by the garbage cans. It's not so bad unless it starts raining.

Yes, she does. The 'Bernie' is a potato boiled in Guiness.
