Lehigh's McCain-Palin Rally - The View From Inside

Sure, Lehigh County GOP chair Bill Platt went too far when he stressed, inside Stabler Arena, that our next Prez could be Barack Hussein Obama. The McCain camp itself condemned this "inappropriate rhetoric." But hey, it was a pep rally, not some nuanced policy discussion. Let's face it, the McCain-Palin bus drove right into the frickin' arena, and I think Palin was driving.

Cindy McCain, and not Sarah Palin, played pitbull. "The day that Senator Obama decided to cast a vote to not fund my son when he was serving sent a cold chill through my body."

  2. Before Bill Platt came on to speak, Northampton COunty Councilwoman, Peg Ferraro welcomed the crowd, and it was a geat barn burner of a speech. It is a shame that all we are hearing about is the Bill Platt gaffe and not the speech that Peg Ferraro made . it was well crafted and beautifully delivered and got to the heart of the matter. NORCO can be proud to have her on Council!

  3. Peg is just a flea on the ass that is NorCo's Central Committee. I'm glad she keeps trying to fight the good fight. Lions 1, Christians 0. Next case.

  5. Spike what the hell we agree again, now on the Phillies? I see a non-political trend here.

Regarding New York I will say though that I read the NY Post every day, it may be the most entertaining paper on the planet.

  6. I wonder what Cindy thought when old Johnnie voted against a funding bill 2 months prior to Obama voting against a funding bill. Obama voted for the bill that McCain voted against. The only difference in the bills was a troop withdrawl deadline.

  7. BethDem,
The troop funding bill that Obama voted for, McCain begged Bush to veto and then commended him for doing so, did have a Non-binding timetable. A Non-binding timetable that established a goal of benchmarks for withdrawal that would be ultimately dictated by what is happening on the ground. McCain opposed this.

As were the mistakes going into Iraq, there was no plan for what happened after shock and awe. By opposing this, McCain refused to set a goal for Iraqi accountability and benchmarks for withdrawal. Now that is reckless.
