Dertinger's Shot of the Week

Last night's Northampton County Council meeting was a little more civil than the circus that came to town last time this bunch met. Still, council member Charles Dertinger decided to micromanage the elections office.

Northampton County Exec John Stoffa: "Charles, that office is operating better now than it ever has been, and you know it."

Dertinger (sarcastically): "I'm sure it is. Actually, I don't know that, but it's always good for you to tell me what I don't know."

  3. From now on, I will track all the mean-spirited comments and arrogance spewing from his venomous mouth. I will also make audio excerpts of this faithless politician.

The voters will have good reason to reject him when he runs next year.

  4. Brilliant idea Bernie! Create an audio mon-tage of his gar-bage and provide it to his opponent for an instant "self-negative" ad! "The worst of Chucky D." An instant classic!

  6. Tom Foolery,

It's a long shot, but he's beatable. Name the bet. I had to write that damn Bennett essay last time.

  9. Charlie will be top vote getter. He has the admiration of thousands of working men and women. He also has the respect and support of count employees and their families. He will win in a walk !

  10. Maybe he should run for Exec.

  11. Stoffa got a TURKEY from the Express, its about time. He really screwed up the entire pay study. Might as well have thrown $115K out the window. His loyal picks for the reviewers all got a raise.
That goof Hildenbrand can't even get out of his own way. I think of all the smart people the County has lost.
Well at least the Express finally took off their man-crush Stoffa goggeles'
Please, this is comment, don't do your I deleted a personal attack nonsense. You and your buddies write alot worse.

  12. I will delete anonymous personal attacks. But yes, Stoffa got a turkey and I intend to discuss that on Monday.

  13. Charlie is also very well regarded in the Open Space and Farmland Preservation communities. Dertinger wins big !

  14. Charles is also beloved in the Democratic Party. If Grube retires, Dertinger will get more votes than Stoffa.

  15. I'm not sure he'll make it past the primary. People don't like bullies and thugs who threaten other people. He was properly tagged as a "faithless politician" by the MC over two years ago. Yet Derttinger will be running for Congress again. He actually thinks he will slaughter Mayor Callahan in a primary.

Delusional, as some of the comments here make clear.

  16. In April '06, Charles Dertinger was branded a "faithless politician" by The Morning Call.

Within months of being elected on the third try, he was running for something else.

  17. Bernie,

Once Grube leaves the only politico running with a big name will be Peg Ferraro. There is no way Dertinger finishes less than third. That will be on name recogniton alone..So to give you a chance of winning a bet I'll bet that he not only wins but finishes in top three. Once you agree to the bet we'll figure the stakes out..Since you're always at the council meetings I could send you a pizza or something if you somehow manage to win.

  18. You're on. I can leave a pizza somewhere if I lose.

  19. How about this. You can take it to the County Council meetings and offer it to council if I win..I'll stop by after the meeting for the last piece if Angle doesn't eat it all..
