Too Soon Oldt

"Shall I go to the county council meeting or Dat's scrimmage?"

That's the question I asked a few friends today. Unanimously, I was told to watch the kids on the football field instead of the ones in Northampton County Council chambers.

So that's what I did.

As one of the trolls likes to point out from time to time, Dat's not really my grandson. Not biologically. But I consider him my grandson and he calls me, "Grandfather."

I like that.

As I watched kids in armor clash on a muggy battlefield, my mind wandered back to the days when it was my son out there. Seems like yesterday.

Those days are gone, and I'll never get them back. But now, as I grow older and older, those are the days I remember best.

  1. That looks like a pretty impressive line Dat's team has.

    Are they pass or run-oriented?

  3. An OT personal attack has been deleted. Not to worry. I have saved the comment. It will reappear soon, along with all the other personal attacks, at Bills and Trolls

  6. Biology does not make a family. My family consists of 6 individuals. None of us are biologically related. All four kids call me mom and my husband dad. They consider each other siblings. It is good to see you made the right decision

  7. They need to try that new double spread offense that everyone's running these days.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
