The Domestic Relations Section of Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas closed at noon today when the temperature in the office located at 10 North Eleventh Street exceeded 89 degrees. President Judge William E. Platt authorized the closing. This was the second time in less than four weeks the court office closed when the building’s air conditioning system failed.
"The health and safety of our employees and of the public using the court’s services is of utmost importance," said Judge Platt. "We are aware the closing may cause serious inconvenience to the public, but we have no alternative."
The Domestic Relations Section provides establishment and enforcement services for child and spousal support. There are 80 employees and more than 15,000 active cases. The building is owned by ……………… Domestic Relations occupies about 15,000 square feet in the building.
The staff noticed the problem on Monday and immediately reported to the building manager. The County brought in fans to try to control the temperature. The offices closed on June 10th, after the air conditioner was out of service for five days.
I hope it gets fixed soon, tempers are already heated in those offices. I have gone in the facility with friends and ex-girlfriends who have used this resource to deal with dead beat dads/moms and NO ONE is happy in there. It makes me really think about having children in the future and WHO I plan on having them with.....

Jeez, if this had been 645 Hamilton Street the tenants would all be out on the street already, Molivinsky would have been annointed as the savior, and the Butz building would have been filled with all the ousted tenants, but then this is the building that Ed uses for his campaign, and the Dems have their office, so I guess it will never happen. Beside, the Republican owners are big contributors.
ReplyDeleteWho are the owners of this building?
ReplyDeleteis there a better address? Lehigh County has a great website for information like this, but I can't get the address to hit.

Yeah, Assessment records do not always correspond exactly with the commonly known address.
ReplyDeleteThe address for the buidling would be Hamilton St. Domestics uses the side door on 11th St.
ReplyDeleteI will have the owner(s) names by Monday. I'm also looking fo rthe previous news account wehn the office was closed the first time. That might include a reference. Apparently, Pawlowski HQ were in that building.
ReplyDeleteI am perplexed.
Why would Pawlowski send all kinds of enforcement goons to one address and evict minority tenants who are happily pursuing their work while simulataneously ignoring a problem in a building that deals with domestic relations?
anon3:28, do you know the # on Hamilton?
ReplyDeleteThe building has a website

The owner of the building is Stoffa's biggest cheerleader donor and former head of Northampton County Human Services.... Jack Bradt.
ReplyDeleteThat figures he is running Northampton County about as well as he ran the Human Services Department.
ReplyDeleteThe only hot air I see is the innuendo. It never ends.
ReplyDeletei do not know mr. bradt, however, i know of at least one other partner who is one of the largest and most highly regarded philanthropist's in the valley. it is a very large building. why anon's want to make assumptions about the owners based on the tenants is beyond me.
