Lehigh Valley Catz at Coca Cola Park on June 30

The Lehigh Valley Catz, our other baseball team, will host the Quakertown Blazers at Coca Cola Park on June 30, at 7 PM. It will cost you $5. Both teams are part of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, a summer wooden bat league supported and sanctioned by both Major League Baseball and the NCAA. Thirty-seven former Catz have gone on to play professionally over the last eight years, including pitcher Jamie Moyer.

  1. If I'm available that day, I would love to see the game. I haven't been to the new stadium yet but hope to go at least once this summer.

  3. Bernie, being a long-time Catz fan, I am happy to see you promote the team here on your blog. I did want to "correct" you in your last statement on this post though. Jamie Moyer was a player in the ACBL, but not for the Catz. The Catz were not in existence when Moyer was playing in the ACBL.

  4. Don't forget MLB Pitcher and Son in law of Digger Phelps Jaime Moyer.

What was the Minor League Team that played in Whitehall many moons ago?

I still have a foul ball from a Ambassadors game.

I tried to buy some of the Ams left over items but they returned my call when I was out. And never heard back on the follow up.

I also hate when I drive by the old site in Williams. Now another lame strip mall and overpriced townhouse deal.

  5. Bernie,

What would it take to get you to throw out a 1st pitch before a game next summer? I appreciate your interest in our club.

  6. Adrian, I'd love to do that. Wow! I was at a few of your games this summer and loved it. So did my grandson and brother.

  7. Bernie,

That's great to hear - consider it done. Not sure if you followed us down the stretch - but - fell short in the playoffs - losing to Kutztown in game 3 of a best-of-three series. But, great group of guys - finished with the best record in the regular season (26-12) - which included a 21-5 run after a 6-7 start - and - captured the Wolff Division title. I will be in touch - and - count on throwing out a pitch at one of our games next summer. Look forward to meeting you - your brother - and grandson. We can even get your grandson to serve as batboy for a game if interested. That's what this is all about - and - truly - our players understand that. Again, thanks for being a fan. Enjoy the offseason.
