Giant Markets Donates “Green” Benches to Lehigh Valley Municipalities

Giant Markets is actually donating 20 Trex® benches made out of recycled plastic grocery bags to four lucky Lehigh Valley municipalities, and will do so formally at a news conference on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at 1:00 pm, in the Allentown Arts Park, Allentown, PA. These benches cost $400 a pop. Eight of them will grace Allentown derrieres while the remaining twelve will serve assholes in Alburtis (4), Coopersburg (4), and Hellertown (4).

I don't know if Giant plans on demonstrating these benches during its news conference at the Arts Park, but if Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski intends to sit on one, I hope they bring a spare.

  3. It's called humor. Have we reached the point where we can't poke a little fun at elected officials? Lighten up.

  6. The Giant stores paid a lot of money to donate to the municipalities yet Bernie just condems them for it. And NO, when someone called you on it you can no longer get away with your lame excuse that it was in humor... Bernie, you are lying when you say that just to save face on a bad post. Thanks Henry

  7. Henry Schaadt,

I condemn Giant by posting its donation? I lie when I say I made a funny about Mayor Ed's wide load? I'm a wide load myself. Dude, lighten up. A little light humor hurts no one. But feel free to act all outraged and holier than thou about it. That's funny, too. You know wehat's even funnier? Mayor Ed will be bragging about these recycled benches while four people have been murdered over the past two weeks. That's a riot.

  8. Beeno, I could care less about Mayor ED. As per you inane posting, and here are your exact words..."These benches cost $400 a pop. Eight of them will grace Allentown derrieres while the remaining twelve will serve assholes in Alburtis "" The Giant store is donating these benches for public use, not you. When a local store donates $6000 for the public good I feel it very foolish for you to make sarcastic comments about it and when someone calls you on it as someone did, you claimed once again that " it was just in humor" I will bet Hitler used the same excuse. Also about the 4 murders... is that the Giant stores fault???

  9. Anon 12:06.

Twenty $400 benches cost $8,000, not $6,000. And now Hitler gets in the act? I'm a lot funnier than him. But not half as funny as you.

  10. Let me see if I got this straight...

Giant Markets spent $8,000 on public benches because Hitler was prejudice, and that's why Bernie can't be funny?

  11. Get it straight AJ, it's...

As I understand it, Bernie O's butt cost Giant SuperMarkets $8,000.00, on Hitler's public benches in Alburtis. And that's why Pawlowski can't be funny. Got it?
