Norco's Election Chair, Wally G, Doing Partisan Radio Show ... Again!
Last year, between Labor Day and election time, he hosted a highly partisan, weekly radio show that repeatedly slammed Congressman Charlie Dent.
Who is Wally G? Why, he's Northampton County Elections Commission chair Walter R. Garvin. When Republicans found out, they went ballistic. Northampton County Council's solicitor, Leonard Zito, told council an elections commission is a quasi judicial body. It often makes decisions that are essentially judicial. Members must avoid the appearance of impropriety, and conduct themselves with impartiality.
So after getting this advice from a former judge, what does Wally G do? He hosts another talk radio show, which went on all of this week, bashing the Republicans again.
Is this how he avoids the appearance of impropriety? If there is a close election, and Republicans lose, don't you think some of them are going to start pointing fingers?
Garvin branded a helpful elections report as "pure partisan politics." But if he wants a real example of that, he need only look in a mirror.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. what station and time is it on?
ReplyDeleteIt was on WGPA this week between 9 and 10 am.
ReplyDeleteI am sure it will be on till election day like last year.
ReplyDeleteBernie.. last I heard you have to pay to play on WG$$. At $165 per hour or maybe even more by now, that comes to a good hunk of change by the end of the week. I wonder who is paying for it?
ReplyDeleteJoe Kim Long is paying for it!
ReplyDeleteThe fact that there is no alternative to Clear Channel (locally WAEB)IS NOT GOOD.
ReplyDeleteThe fact there are zero Animal Rights, Tree Rights, anti-Humanist
perspectives on the air anywhere in the world is the death of freethought.
Not that it was ever alive.
Huh?
ReplyDeleteWhile Joe Long is a bastard and the Dems have no core standing of
ReplyDeletevalues and good decision making.
I agree Charlie Dent is even worst.
While Charlie has made a deal with
the Devil himself; he bring back
that stench from Washington.

ReplyDeleteI like Charlie but as a Dem I would love to support a Dem who stands for workers rights and some form of comprehensive health care. But please, I as many other Dems willnot vote for Sam the Scam. Unfortunately between the two I will vote for Dent, the Devil you know IS sometimes better then the Devil you don't know.
Is there another Dem out there?
