LCDC to Collect Food for Hungry and Hold Rally on October 12

To seize control of the state House in the land of midnight payraises, Democrats need a net gain of only eight seats. That's why Blue Collar Casey's race matters. That's why Russ Shade is the upstart to defeat Harhart. You can meet these and other terrific candidates like Joe Brennan on October 12 at a Lehigh County Democratic Rally at 7 P.M., 2101 Mack Blvd., Allentown, PA 18103.

Price of admission? Two food items for local families in need. As Blue Collar Casey Sr. told his son, "We don't eat if they're hungry."

That's one special interest many incumbent Republicans have forgotten.

  1. Damn, what a great idea! The republicans had a similar thought, but couldn't find a country club that would allow can goods to be brought into the dining area.

  2. I think they'll be awarding building lots donated by a few developers.

  4. LST, I don't know where you got that idea. I knew Joe from his days on Council and he's terrific. I supported him in the primary when Tony "the hatchet" Rybak went wacky, and had him on WGPA when I did a guest host gig.

Joe represents the best of both worlds. He works for TJ Rooney, so he knows the system. But he's also a maverick.

There was a fellow who made a few negative comments about Joe, but it turns out he was misinformed by Rybak, who ran a very negative campaign and who himself is now the subject of an AG investigation for his campaign finance reports.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
