Zrinski to Unveil NorCo's 2027 Budget on Friday

According to a news release, Executive Tara Zrinski plans to unveil her 2027 Budget from Northampton County on Friday, 10:30 am, at the Human Services Building, located at 2801 Emrick Blvd in Bethlehem Tp. It will be her first budget as county executive. A tax hike is all but guaranteed.

Her proposed budget will go into effect even if it is rejected by County Council. They have the power to amend the budget but have no authority to interfere with revenue projections.

The budget must be balanced.

Will she pay into the county's pension funds this year? Will she begin addressing the wage disparity that exists? Will she fund open space?

Stay tuned.

  1. Bend over NORCO residents. You can blame McClure for most of this incoming damage.

    1. Steve Barron’s Fiscal Department presented 7 balanced budgets without a tax increase. In 2022, it cut property taxes 1 mil. Executive Zrinski voted for that tax cut.

    2. True but let's not forget the previous administration left him with surpluses and there were massive "COVID Relief" funds at his disposal.

    1. I really can't stand this comment. You act like county employees don't pay taxes, too.

  4. To defray part of the tax increase, Zrinski should give back her salary and value of benefits she swindled when impersonating county controller.

    1. I agree, she used the office as a Campaign Headquarters. Bend over, she has no clue what she's doing. Thanks Lamont!

  5. Most retirees busted their asses working for the county and the budget should include funding for the retirement funds this year plus all the years it wasn't funded.

    1. There are multiple moving parts in the pension plan. It doesn’t need taxpayers’ money every year and when taxpayers without pensions (most of them) hear this kind of whining, they object.

  6. I asked the county if this will be on the YouTube channel, no response yet.

  7. Given her vastly expansive and thoroughly boundless experience which qualified her to be county controller, Commissar Tzara should be able to propose a budget that meets all county obligations and without a tax increase.

    3. great sense of humor! We all know she has no clue when it comes to finances, and only used the office as a platform for her Executive race.

  8. First Question: How much money is in the pension fund and the retiree health care fund ?
Second Question: At what percentage are the funds currently funded at ?
Third Question: Why would raise taxes on current tax payers to fund far future liabilities ?

  9. Tara do you regret voting for the ‘22 tax cut now ?

  10. County retirees should probably read their most recent newsletter to understand what votes for McClure and now Zrinski mean(or have meant) for them. Double whammy if they are a property owner in Norco. Can’t tell them, though, since some still deny facts.

  11. Love the comments, no want wants a tax increase. Salaries at Gracedale need to go up to move out vendor provided nurses. Retirees who were guaranteed a pension in a compensation scheme where wages were not competitive. But illegally stiff retirees bc we can't stomach a tax increase. Commenters here want magicians and wizards, not Dems and Rs. And, we can all ride unicorns.

  12. I just hopes she places the blame where it belongs. At the feet of Lamont McClure. He is the reason the county is in the position it is in. Himself. No one else anyone who knows Lamont he always called the shots.

    1. Tara was complicit for years. She knew the problems as a councilwoman, she knew the fiscal problems as a controller, and she was part of the problem as executive. No excuses for her blaming just Lamont, she was in it with him.

  13. You get what you voted for. People went party line because they hate Trump. Trump will be home in two years and 10’years from now they will still hate Trump and blame him. Stupid is what stupid does. Now pay your tax increases across the County, cities and townships. So what are you giving up to pay for all these new taxes.

  14. Just stop! Tara knew for years the same issues that plagued the county and as a councilman, controller, never rose up to stand strong to fix or remedy the issues, not once!.
