At this moment, there's no shortage of Democrats who wish to wear their party's mantle in this year's Pa. 7 race for the seat currently held by Republican Ryan Mackenzie. And for good reason. A blue wave was felt in last year's municipal races and Republican are in danger of losing the House and possibly the Senate in this year's midterms, and the Pa. 7 Congressional race is rated a toss-up by the Cook Political Report. There are currently seven candidates, but that number might fall once nomination petitions are returned.
These seven candidates are Robert Brooks, Ryan Crosswell, Aiden Alexander Gonzales, Lamont McClure, Carol Obando-Derstine and Mark Pinsley and Lewis Shupe.
You can see and hear from them yourselves on two separate occasions this week.
Tonight, Resurrected Life Church (620 Hamilton St, Allentown, Pa 18101) will host a forum between 6 and 7:30 pm. Its focus is supposed to be the economy
Thursday. Muhlenberg College Democrats and LV Young Democrats will host a debate at The Great Room, Seegers Union (parking is at the loop and on Chew Street). Doors open at 6:30 pm.
I missed the first get together at Lafayette College because I thought it was private. But I will attend one of these events this week
Get ready for very poor policies that will hurt the American people in many ways you want more taxes ,poor foreign policy, and many other bad choices.
ReplyDeleteBO, even you know these are 7 pretenders. RM for the win
ReplyDeleteIs Lamont still in? I heard he bailed out.
ReplyDelete6:49 -- He "bailed out" $200K from his own bank account to support his languid campaign, yes, but he's still in it as of now.
DeletePer Kalshi, this race is already decided ...
ReplyDeleteBrooks 66%
Crosswell 22%
McClure 19%
Obando-Derstine 4%
Pinsley <1%
So, if your much anticipate blue wave should materialize, explain how the country will then be better off.
ReplyDeleteKeep an eye on those offering collection plates. Since his recent fundraising is comprised mostly of his own money, McClure may try to circulate them to get some much needed money for his campaign.
ReplyDeleteWouldn’t go to downtown Allentown at night ever especially for something like this! Maybe ask Lamont about Gracedale if you venture to either one, Bernie. Mackenzie has this won again!
ReplyDeleteUnless Mackenzie distances himself from Trump and shows some independent courage he’s a one termer
DeleteAppears Gracedale was cited again 1/8/26 for staffing. This is off topic but apparently the Morning Call was right on something.
ReplyDeleteGranados is an independent. You have 8 candidates listed.
ReplyDeleteOops. I corrected my error. Thanks.
DeleteThat’s a free for all Bernie throw your hat in the ring!
ReplyDeleteLife comes at you fast. The money race and wagering lines have Brooksie as a lock. He still loses to Mackenzie in the general. But it's pretty weird for a guy nobody knew two months ago. Shapiro has a lot of juice apparently.
ReplyDeleteSomeone asked me for my email addy. I must have accidentally deleted the comment. My email is bohare5948@aol.com
ReplyDeleteTime to get back onto Gracedale, Bernie. That’s what’s really important and the executive hiding it and its issues from us. Hurry before she changes hair color again.
DeleteI have a story tomorrow. BNy the way, I believe Zrinksi was very open about the problems there at the last Council meeting, and was complimented by some members who were highly critical when McCluure was Exec. Yet you are quick (anonymously, of course) to accuse her of hiding the home and its issues. She spent most of the last county council meeting discussing the problems you claim she is hiding. Are you really concerned about Gracedale or do you just want Zrinski to fail?
DeleteMackenzie a lock!!!! Such blather by the Republicans is like a Friday night high school pep rally. Their state of denial is measurable. Any of the Democrats will win. The coattails that Mackinzie won on in 2024 have turned into a tripwire.
ReplyDeleteInflation down, prices at grocery down, Epstein files out, voter ID will pass, eight wars stopped, America healthier and safer and you still hate Trump? SMH
DeleteMackenzie wins per Kalshi. Gamblers don't care about your team sports. No polls are out this early, and they're rarely accurate. The wager lines are a different, and a more accurate measurement because casinos survive by setting odds and responding to bettors' action. Kalshi likes Mackenzie by a lot. I suspect his piles of money have something to do with that.
DeleteAha..aha..aha..what a crock! Take your meds until reality hits.
DeleteCope and seethe. The house always wins. Brooks wins and is defeated by Mackenzie. This race is over.
DeleteCurmudgeons gotta curmudgeon...
ReplyDeleteTrump haters are anti-American idiots They should be deported.
ReplyDelete4:32 pm: Very seriously, I ask on what you base your claims? As the grocery shopper for my family, prices are not coming down and leaving the store with three bags and $50 less (no meat, frivolous items) is the norm. Utilities are much higher than just a year ago and people are definitely not healthier, thanks to the stupidity of Kennedy, who believes himself to be some medical genius.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Trump once and learned from that mistake. I will never, never understand how people can, today, defend and praise a man who is working desperately hard to destroy Democracy and kill America’s reputation.
