  1. Congratulations to Ms. Zirisnki. However, she will have a tough time fulfilling her duties as th new county executive and also a part of the McClure campaign machine. Her indicative's will be instructions that help McClure.
Kraft will be President of council; it has already been arranged. He will be sure that the new council does as they were instructed.
It is a shame they are not allowed to be independent. For example, the Dixie Fiasco is a done deal.

    1. Ken Kraft, the fiscal conservative and champion of the working man, is supporting the Dixie TIF to build luxury housing that the working man can't afford? No way!

    2. Who are you to make your statements like this, You know it will be LVH as president and Tom Giovanni as Vp

    3. Which County, NorCo or Lehigh, elected the bigger narcissist?
I’m guessing that between Allentown and the new county executive Lehigh County is going to suffer more.

    4. Champion of what working man??? Not the county employees!!!! Remember the employees are a bunch of cry babies crying about losing their wives to cancer or having to be home with a special need kid...you mean that man???

    5. Northampton and Lehigh Counties are going to be two shit shows. As Mayor Ed Koch once said, you voted for this, now suffer.

      Hold on to your hats.
How long before Tara is campaigning for the next position?

    2. Apparently the behind the scenes decisions at pubs in Hellertown are still on. Pre council voting to decide if Kraft or LVH will be pres may already be done. This group will either do what they are told or face pushback from the senior Wolfpack members. It would be refreshing to have independent thinkers
      For a change.

Will Nadeem the Dream be sworn in on a Koran? Inshallah!

    1. What's the problem with that? I would presume that the Quran would be more meaningful to someone who is Muslim, and I would want him to swear on something that means something to him.

    2. @Mustafa-What a shitty racist thing to say! I guess you only respect the book from YOUR religion??

    3. Come the Calafate everyone will be sworn in with the Koran.

  6. Is there one leader amongst those five elected? One of them can't even speak English. There is a rumor floating around the Government Center that the non speaking Councilmember has asked for an interpreter. Is that true? Is his wife really the nut job on Easton's City Council? Please tell me this isn't true.

    1. Why can’t elected officials speak whatever language they are comfortable with?
      You sound like a racist.

      Delete
    2. Why!!! Because they are an elected official of the United States of America. Live here speak the language here, as a taxpayer and natural resident of this country I should be able to understand what elected officials are saying and not going through an interpreter….

    3. LOL! elected as a representative of the people in America but you can't speak English? How do even understand the agenda? The meeting minutes? Contracts? I can't believer there is someone out there actually this dumb.................

  7. I will most definitely be there for this freak show. I want to see Nadeem raise his hand and swear allegiance to the USA and swear to uphold the Constitution. Is his wife going to hold the "BIBLE" or some other book? Will he have his interpreter with him? Can he really speak and understand the English Language? I hope he does well and most of this gossip is baloney but seeing what his wife did in Easton I'm not so sure. Lucky for us we have great leaders on Council to guide him. Bernie, do you know? Can the man speak English well enough to do his job as a Council Person?

    1. I do not generally attend swearing-in ceremonies. It is nothing personal. I just hate large groups. I do it when I have to do it but dislike it.

    2. I have spoken to him a few times and do not believe he speaks English well at all and do not think he understands the language well. I know others who have a different view.

    3. @8:51 What do you care which religious book is there to put your hand on? I am atheist so none of them are important to me and I could care less what book is important to you.
You sound pretty racist to me!

Since when does bias rooted in religion have anything to do with “race”?
You seem pretty dull witted to me.

    6. @9:24 And 10:01 It is racist/xenophobic rhetoric because it uses stereotypes and suspicion tied to ethnicity, religion, and nationality. If you use racist rhetoric then maybe you should look real hard in the mirror!

    7. Since when is religion a race thing?
      Do tell.

    8. I’m Roman Catholic, does that make me Italian? If I’m Italian am I white?
How about if I am Irish?
      Are there non-white Italians?
      What about the “Black Irish”?
Inquiring minds want to know more about religion as race.
      Do tell.

    9. What “race” is oriented toward the Bible?

  8. How about the 9:06 Atheist calling the kettle black. What a dipstick. You're putting your hand on a Bible. Koran. or any other religious book and swearing an oath and allegiance to uphold the laws of the United States and that makes someone a racist. You're living walking proof that they're not all locked up. Dipstick.

  12. Cancel all TIFs and acknowledge the land that is now Wilson Borough was stolen from the Leni Lenape. The land should be seized and given back to the First Peoples from whom it was taken. Give Easton 10 days to remove that horrible Columbus statue. This should done before any plastic straw ban. It's time to go full Tara. Bite me Panto. You live on stolen land as well.

  15. On an unrelated note (since I have not seen it posted elsewhere), it appears that both Senior Deputy DAs (who were transplants from Lehigh County) have left the Northampton County DA's office. They have been replaced by two new transplants from Lehigh County. In other news, former Lehigh County Senior Deputy District Attorney Nico Baratta now works for Ray Lahoud's firm.

  16. Well, now we will see how little TZ understands about actually “managing” a diverse county and each of its fiefdoms, including Gracedale. Give her two meetings before she creates her first breach of protocol.

  17. Prayers for Norco are all I have to offer. Gracedale cited again in November, Bernie. This time for staffing. Maybe send David Holland to investigate.

  19. 2:28 pm: I have been waiting two years for an update on the dysfunctional DA’s office, but the OT debacle was it. I realize this Bernie’s blog and he chooses to write what he wishes, but ignoring a huge (important) part of county government makes me think his contacts left or everything is copacetic.
