NorCo Gives $20k for West Easton Police Department

Pictured are Frank Brooks (DCED), the West Easton Police Chief, Tina Smith (DCED), Ken Kraft, Lamont McClure, James Kostura and Mayor Dan DePaul.

Yesterday, Lamont McClure and the Northampton County Department of Community and Economic Development presented a $20,000 check to the Borough of West Easton to help pay for their new police department located at 301 6th Street in West Easton.

In February, District Attorney John Morganelli gave West Easton $10,000 in drug forfeiture funds to help form a police department.

West Easton has had no police department since 1996 and currently relies on Pennsylvania State Police.

  3. Yeah, she is an adjudicated liar who now has been charged by PSP with false statements, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for next week. She wasted the time of several troopers who spent several hours trying to confirm whether she had fired her firearm, looking for casings and talking to neighbors. She lied. She has been offered the opportunity to come on here and explain her said, but refuses. She'd rather continue lying about and smearing others.

  4. Will she be the first arrest when Dept is staffed and on the street?

  5. The WEPD does not exist to arrest her. But she should think twice before filing more false reports.

  9. Will her alleged false repoting be considered a first offense and eligible for ard? Will you attend the hearing. It should be good. Would enjoy a full report, if you're inclined. Thanks.

Learn punctuation and the English language before you write in support of another idiot's comment.

  12. @1:35 PM -- Checking someone's spelling a grammar isn't an argument. Can you provide a counter point please?

  13. Counterpoint:
You support a libelous comment that someone is dealing drugs without proof. You are a moron as verified by your improper punctuation and your use of a word that doesn't exist in the English language.

    1. Hell those behind distributing drugs and allowing drugs in our cities never put the hands on these killer substances!
Just stick with teaching children how to change the Campbell's soup can. Now that 20 g's can be used for administration costs to stop the drugs flooding west Easton for the pencil pushing do nothing's like you!

  14. Lavish Lamont the soon the be one termer does it again with our tax money- wasted it. Does he think this BS is not gonna be used against him in the next election? His West Easton "connection" is disappointing and disturbing enough. Just when we thought getting rid of Brown was the right thing to do we have this clown.

  15. John Brown is an excellent reminder why we need McClure. Thanks Mezzacappa. And those are not real estate taxes.

  17. Assuming this is grant money WE applied for and received, people always complain about their tax dollars going to waste. Grant money is already allocated and there for the taking, so why not grab a piece of the pie. If not it will be spent elsewhere. When I was president of our local athletic association years ago we secured three DCED grants totaling 15 thousand dollars for badly needed improvements to our facility. The money was for the benefit of the kids, and without the help of Lisa Boscola we never would have been awarded the grants. Not all politicians are "hacks".

  18. 8:04 that is absolutely correct, when government funds come to a county to be distributed, if you don’t apply another community will. That old saying if you snooze you lose. Found out by asking around this Mayor Dan, besides getting 3 fully quit police vehicles for $4000. Plus that handicap ramp and too many other things to mention, Secure a 20 year lease for the police station building for $1 a year. We need this guy in Wilson Borough to bring our tax rate down.
