Trump Incorrectly States Dems Give Illegals Right to Vote

The Weekly Standard, a conservative publication, debunks Authoritarian Donald Trump's claim that Dems are trying to give illegals the right to vote. It is illegal for undocumented immigrants to vote in  federal election, but in some communities, they are allowed to vote in school board or municipal races.

I find it troubling when a President of the United States is so reckless with the truth.

He also incorrectly stated that you need ID to go grocery shopping, proving that is something that he himself has never done.

  1. Facts are irrelevant and usually antithetical to Trump's view of the world. I agree with you Bernie when you say we need to listen more to what both sides are actually saying about issues, but it's really tough when you watch clips of the compliant sheep at his rallies and the likes of that ridiculous Qanon group. Hard not to question the lack of intellectual fire power in attendance.

Thanks for confirming your president's statement. You're splitting hairs and TWS has been never Trump from the starting blocks. You and your ilk have lost the philosophical argument on immigration and you're frantically trying to change the electorate. The good news is that you've posted another immigration piece. How refreshing that it's being discussed. And when immigration is being discussed, Trump and Rs are winning.

  4. If all that is needed is a drivers license, and many states now give illegals drivers licenses, they are registering to vote, why do dems oppose voter id, only because they are cheating, and you know it. There are more registered voters in LA county than residents. Many dems have spoken out saying if they live here they should be able to vote.

  5. And the problem is probably most of trumps supporters think you have to have an ID to buy groceries LOL

  6. Whether or not illegal immigrants should or shouldn't be allowed to vote even in local elections is a legit debate. However, requiring voter ids with photos can be difficult to get for older folks and poor people whose states don't have facilities near them so they can sign up. Fix the access problem before you require it.

Regarding the Korean war vets' remains. Hoorah if they are actually what the Koreans say they are...wait for DNA testing to confirm before you do a victory dance.

  7. Don't need an ID to go grocery shopping?
--Paying with a credit card: may need to show ID
--Buying alcohol or tobacco if it's sold in the grocery store: need to show ID
--Writing a check to cover your grocery bill? need to show ID
--Shopping at a membership grocery store (like Costco): Need to show your membership ID

As for illegal immigrants / undocumented workers voting in America, Trump said this: "In some states, Democrats are even trying to give illegal immigrants the right to vote. They want to give them the right to vote," and the same source Bernie cites in this post says that Trump is technically correct: "Ultimately, it's difficult to parse the exact accuracy of Trump's statement... Trump does not specifically reference federal elections. He says that this is happening "in some states." But there are no state-level elections where Democrats are giving illegal immigrants the right to vote, either. There are, however, at least a few municipal-level elections where Democrats have pushed to give certain groups of undocumented immigrants the ability to vote in specific local elections."

Just because Trump doesn't speak like a smooth and polished politician doesn't mean he's a lying nitwit, nor does it mean his followers are mindless drones. God forbid the Trump supporters are actually smart enough to understand what he is saying without having to be spoon-fed soundbites like we get from most politicians.

Agreed, but you seem to excuse a lying nitwit on the tired excuse that he just is not a "smooth and polished" pol. That's a mistake on your part. You can't excuse a liar simply bcof his deliverry.A liar is a liar.

"If all that is needed is a drivers license, and many states now give illegals drivers licenses, they are registering to vote, "

Actually, illegal immigrants can only get driver licenses in 12 states. States are encouraged by federal law to allow people to register to vote when they get a driver license, but noncitizens are not allowed to vote, and protocols are built into state systems to prevent illegals from registering. Pa.was accused of registering illegals. It cameout to one oillegal for every 172,000 voters.

  12. What are the 12 states where illegals can get a driver's license?

  13. If you really think that there is not an effort to have illegals vote, you are either a fool or a fraud. There never has been a systematic audit of voter registration rolls. Comparing the names addresses etc. There never has been a serious investigation. when it was tried, the states refused to make the registration rolls available. They are cheating, we know it.

  14. These folks voting doesn't change a thing, we are on an unchanging course to having our constitution's principles applied the world round. Our principles will be as borderless then, as our military is now.

Lighten-up on the lettuce pickers we have real goals worth achieving.

  15. As pointed out, states are giving illegals the right to vote, and here are many instances when you have to show an ID to shop in a grocery store.

This reads like a Snopes "fact check".

True but "out of context." Which means what he said has some literal truth to it, but YOU don't like the context.

  16. To hear Trump tell it there's no possible way he could have won. Now he has to come up with a bunch of excuses should voters reject him in upcoming elections.

He claims illegals voted against him. The 'deep state' conspired against him. Obama plotted against him. Hillary worked with the Russians against him. The 'main stream media' undermined his campaign. The political polls were rigged against him. If all these folks worked against him them they sure did a lousy job. Must have been the will of God, eh?

I think what he's really pissed about is winning. The guy only ran because he's addicted to adoration. This is a case of be careful what you wish for. Adulation requires lots of attention. Lady luck can be very fickle indeed.

  17. Dems love to tout that Hillary won the popular vote by 3 million in 2016. Most of those votes came from California and the left coast, where illegals are cherished, protected, and given citizen rights, including voting. Fraud is highly likely, but left-wing Attorney Generals just look the other way.

  18. . Most of those votes came from California and the left coast,
What you fail to mention Hillary with her 65,844,954 votes wasn't his only opponent. Gary Johnson got 4,488,919. Jill Stein 1,457,044. Evan McMullin 725,902. There were 1,103,544 write-ins. 453,664 other votes. Meaning 74,074,037 voted against Trump.

Or do you think they're all illegals too?

  19. LVCI,

So by your math, I guess Bill Clinton was also illegitimate.

    Hmmmm...maybe that's a poor choice of words.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Not what I said at all. What this means is over 74 million other people are refused representation by this president by him ignoring and bashing them.

  21. 3:24 - kind of a wash. The examples you list also didn't vote for Hillary!

"Fraud is highly likely, but left-wing Attorney Generals just look the other way."
And yet no right wing organization or group of people have been able to show that vast amount of illegal votes.
Somehow 3 million illegals voted and no one can find that?
try reality Comrade trump lost the popular vote

  23. Eliminating ICE = illegals voting. Ds want to eliminate ICE because Ds want illegals voting. Those already here have soured to Santa Claus politics and Ds need to fast-track fresh, needy voters. It's in the DNC action plan. This is not news.

  24. Didn't 3 million more people vote for Hillary than Trump?

And Comrade trump treats illegals just like anyone else he hires.
after the illegals(which trump praised for their hard work) did the demolition job on a trump building he wanted to stiff them on payment.
Guess illegals are only bad when they are not saving trump some cash.
As an added bonus the one group who tried to scuttle the Arizona "papers please" law was that hotbed of liberals the State Chamber of commerce.
republican business owners love illegals as they exploit them to save a buck.
So there is a easy solution.
Fine the business owner one thousand dollars a day for every day that illegal worked.
Strange how the republicans never mention going after the employers of illegals, guess it just has not occurred to them
comrade trump can build his stupid wall with ease from the fines.

  26. 8:04, even if more than a small minority of Democrats wanted to get rid of ICE, this doesn't make any sense. ICE doesn't patrol the borders for illegal entry to the US, Border Patrol does. ICE deports illegal immigrants apprehended on the interior of the country. Furthermore, you need to be a citizen to register to vote, and lying about your citizenship status on the registration form caries a penalty of up to $15,000 and/or 7 years in jail, which would be a huge risk for almost no reward.

    try
    https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/san-francisco-voter-registration/

"but only some non-citizens, and only to vote in one specific type of local election. According to city documents, the new law authorizes “San Francisco residents who are not United States citizens but who are the parents, legal guardians, or caregivers of a child residing in San Francisco to vote in elections for the Board of Education."

"The positives being that they have an opportunity to participate in the civic engagement process and have a voice in their children’s education. The downside being that if they do decide to vote, they will appear on federally available voter rolls which are accessible by ICE"

so if anything ICE is clearly incompetent if all they have to do is look at a list.

  34. The action in San Francisco is only the first step in having illegal immigrants vote in all elections. The voting is explained as the proper thing to do for the masses
