At the same time they will get a qualified, committed and independent thinker not guided by party leadership. All they have to do is vote for Micheal Molovinsky. Now more than ever we need a voice of reason with a blend of Republican and Democratic solutions. Is that what you call the state catching up with it's contributions that they neglected to pay into the system for a decade? What we need is a massive infusion of funds to make up for what they never paid in - my suggestion, legalized and taxed marijuana. Terri Powell did mention she would represent the district like I would expect from a legislator, which is through polling, surveys and talking to voters in the district to gauge their position. Rep. HH did not show me a wealth of knowledge considering her length of service and doing the job full-time. Her answer to medical campaign gifts was confusing. I agree Molovinsky would be a welcome change in Harrisburg. I also think Powell will listen to voter opinion and learn as she goes. Not sure about the Wolf coattails remark, as local Dems don't seem to be funding or campaigning hard for her. Not sure what the deal is with that. If you have a slow day, would love to have you dig into the day, time and location for debate, as none served the constituency well. Terri's message is for team Democrats. Harhart appeals to Republicans and constituents she has helped over 20 years. MM appeals to people who realize, I think correctly, that both parties have mucked things up. Thanks for your thoughts. ...Your comment and observation is welcome, David.

Michael IS a curmudgeon. But he is also a very good debater, so much so that Terri began to quote MM's figures. You don't think he'd fit in well in Harrisburg. You're right and that's why he should be sent there. Besides, that way I'd be rid of him.

He will lose bc he refuses to do what he needs to do to get elected. Terri will lose as well. You can't win without a campaign. At one time, debates meant a great deal. These days, they are attended mostly by people like you, who have already made up your mind. There is nothing MM or Julie Harhart could have said that would have changed your thinking. (Shown up, maybe.) I thought he came across as more of a curmudgeon than a good debater. It seems to me that refusing to provide full answers to questions because they're about wedge issues, or because you just don't like the question, is not an effective way to win votes. We can only conclude from his apparent satisfaction with the current student loan system that he thinks it's OK for useless middlemen to collect high interest rates from students. While it's easy to be sarcastic about Pennsylvania politics, I can't imagine Michael negotiating effectively in Harrisburg on our behalf with his sardonic style. My impression was that Terri Powell would be the better alternative to Ms. Harhart, who is overdue for a career change or a well-deserved retirement.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11460728477439849245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9299655.post-80751939457802611692014-10-19T10:26:12.135-04:002014-10-19T10:26:12.135-04:00@7:28, a quote from my opening statement; ..Nothi...@7:28, a quote from my opening statement; ..Nothing illustrates this paralysis (Harrisburg) as much as the inability to pass pension reform, in spite of a Republican Governor, and a Republican house and senate.
