RIP: Josh Fulmer

Josh Fulmer, an admired and respected lawyer from Easton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday night. His obituary is located here. He would have turned 40 on Friday, Family and friends marked the occasion by releasing 40 lanterns and 40 blue and white (PSU) balloons. His widow called him an advocate "for justice, for the wrongly convicted, for those without a voice, and for civil and human rights." He was all that and more importantly, was a person with a highly unusual quality. He listened. It made no difference whether you were a President Judge or the least of the low - people that most of us look at without really seeing. He listened.

Lots of people have law degrees. Few are lawyers. Josh was a lawyer.

Reading his obituary made it clear that not only did his family lose a loving member, but the community lost a man who provided support to many as their lawyer and friend. How hard this time will be for his widow, but the NCBA is a family and will make sure she is not alone.

Words can't even describe the type of person Josh was. Truly one of the best. To his family and firm I am so sorry for your loss.

He glowed when he held and you asked him about his child.

It was obvious he was respected in court and often a judge would ask him to assist an unrepresented litigant with paperwork, helping both the court and the lawyerless individual.

I happen to be one of his las clients and all I can say is it was nice to find an attorney who was more interested in the person than the pay. My deepest and sincere heart felt condolences to his family and friends...
