Bethlehem Celebrates 275th

Picture stolen from Don Cunningham's Facebook page.
I've always felt Bethlehem is the jewel of the Lehigh Valley, as Don Cunningham says, "a very special place." and that's in no small due to the efforts of each of its these five fellows: John Callahan, Ken Smith, current Mayor Bob Donchez, Don Cunningham and Gordon Mowrer. But as they themselves would tell you, it's mostly due to the people who live there. I see them at meetings frequently, and they never cease to amaze me with their insights.

Boy does Callahan look different. Did he gain a lot of weight?

@ 12:19 a little but he is still the best looking one in that group!

The big DON cunnilingwist is infecting the rest of the crew with his forked tongue!

Actually Ken Smith is still the best looking mayor by a mile. His boyish good looks, trim figure given his age, he beats the others by a mile. Callyhan has put on a ton of weight. Probably from all the crow he had to eat by losing big time for county executive after all his bragging. He may also be heavy due to having to eat his own ego which is quite large. CunningHam and CallyHam are two of the most self-serving mayors the city ever had. People got wise to Cally and sent him packing.

From the Executive suite office curtains he never bought!

Ken Smith is one of all time favorites . Not only was he a U.S.Navy officer that commanded his own ship, a Veteran, but he allways paid me on time when I found 'stolen' rental cars from theifs that occationally rented them from his business . Mr .Smith is a stand up man . Clean habits and ETHICS. Never even any'twisted' statements. Nice to see him on here.

Say what you want about Callahan , but a lot of sh-t got done!!! I moved away for a number or years and when I got back I couldn't believe how much the City changed (in my eyes for the better).

I was standing at the ceremony for the skate park and watched a representative from the Sands hand Callahan a check to pay for the second phase of construction. The money vanished and the second phase was built with fund raising and donations.

Nothing but empty promises from that guy.

Probably the worse Mayor in the city history.

@ 5;13 am your story sounds like bullshit to me. Why would he take a check publicly and then pocket it. He was the one who built you the park in the first place. With him there would be no skatepark. He was one of the biggest advocates for it. you people are amazing. Callahan got things done. Far from empty promises. one of the greatest periods of expansion in our city's history all during the great recession.

it`s a crying shame who bethlehem honored. how about real backbones in bethlehem. wayne schollenberger, wally long [deceased], kenny young, connel, the list goes on.
