Fed Ed Spends $80k in Campaign Funds For Criminal Defense

Allentown Mayor Edwin "Fed Ed" Pawlowski's latest state campaign finance disclosure has been filed filed, and it shows he has used campaign contributions to pay for his legal defense in a federal racketeering investigation that appears to be aimed directly at him. It shows he has so far spent over $80,000, during the second half of last year.

You can see this report online, thanks to an Allentown ordinance requiring City candidates to file their reports with the City Clerk as well as the elections office.

The report shows that Pawlowski started the Summer with nearly $180,000, thanks to contributions from crony capitalists who were even willing to feed his desire to be Governor. But the contributions suddenly came to a stop when the feds raided Allentown City Hall in early July.

Fed Ed paid prominent criminal defense lawyer Jack McMahon $20,000 on September 3. He also paid Washington, DC law firm Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge and Rice $20,000 on July 20 and $40,000 on September 22.

He finished the year with $83,000 left in a campaign fund turned defense fund.

Based on his current spending, the well should be dry by June or July.

Great info, thanks.

What about Schlossberg & Schewyer? Where can I find out if they spent campaign contributions to lawyers for their possible corruption activities?

Looks like FedEd will burn through the rest by July 1 - about the time he's indicted. So, he'll be dead broke before prosecution begins. Let's see if the NIZ "heroes" step up to fund his defense!

To think that this smarmy roach has access to 180 k and the FBI could take him at any time. The only money we look at is the money on the books. I'll bet there were a few off the radar bags . Contributions to a college fund, wink, wink. Remember this piece went full slime ball . Luckily the FBI knows how and where to find the stashes.

From Chris Casey's Blog:

At approximately 5:19 AM this morning, Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski went outside to get his newspaper. He SAW his SHADOW on the pavement from a nearby streetlight, and scurried back into his home.

This means he will try to stay in office for at least six more months.

haha!!!!!!!

The "heroes" of the NIZ should help pay for his defense. I hope the judge goes after these legal fees. RICO allows this. The attornies are paid with corrupt bribe money. All of the donations to Pawlowski can be seen as some form of a bribe. Did Fleck record the bribe for the record?

80K well spent.

PENNSYLVANIA- Full employment for defense lawyers.

Bernie what about his senate campaign account. That had like 100k+ in it. What happened to the funds? Can he use that account for legal fees?

Even at this date I'll bet only a small percentage of the Lehigh Valley knows or cares what is going on in Allentown and now Lehigh County.

2:06 Good stuff. I see the familial resemblance.

@ 2:42
Well my family heard about it in L.A. on NPR and couldn't wait to get the full story.
So it's not like it's a completely under the radar story.

Time to bring back Fleck to run the "Pawlowski Defense Fund" campaign. He will need to grease the machine again to keep his sorry ass out of jail.

2:34, the federal quarterly report should be available soon. When it is, I'll tell you about it. He has to return a lot of that money, but can spend it on legal defense.

Time for Ed d to run for president . I see enough cult members remaining to stuff the campaign fund, then Ed d can suspend that bullshit and keep on truckin'. I love America.

4:09 You are correct. I'm sure there are people in the valley that don,t know the name of the President.

So Im thinking about Cynthia Mota changing her vote for Delta Thermo Energy. If she took $1000.00 and changed her vote, is that a bribe or contribution? Sure seems like a bribe but I'm not very smart like the feds.

And the lawyers get richer.

Love how the political hacks who make these laws benefit capitalize on loopholes , when they themselves get busted.

now we see why he kept his web site up after his name was brought up in the spring/summer. this is a crime if there ever was one. a guy can use campaign donations for shit like this? wtf.

I questioned it long ago as to why his web site was still taking donations and he had it on his Facebook with a link for people to pay with pay pal. now we know why.

Now, who will have the balls, or courage to start the movement to stop this garbage. I hear crickets.

this is not what democracy looks like. this is how third world dick-tators operate. Our form of govt that implements rules like this falls right into that category.

So when I hear those people, on both sides, screaming about taking back their country, I am starting to get it.

Cant wait to see the fed quarterly reports. That report should be very interesting. So basically , we have defense lawyers, being paid out with NIZ bribe/dirty cash. That should be a crime in itself.

A large group of people, including me and many others, have been advocating reform for some time. Yet you demand someone to step forward and complain about hearing crickets. Isn't it time for you to stop being a coward and step forward yourself? Go scurry under your rock or start standing up for once in your life, coward.

Mota is going down for chump change.
She might get off with house arrest.

Mota is the worst person on Council. I hope she gets indicted soon so she has to resign. Hopefully her replacement will have some intelligence.
