Freebies For Bloggers?

West Easton blogger Matt Dees reports that he gets freebies from local establishments as a result of his website. ... Jars of honey. ... Tickets to the State Theatre. ... A bug-a-salt gun.

Maybe I should be nicer.

Nah.

Would it be legal/ethical to ask citizens to write-in someone on the November 3rd ballot and offer them a free beer and food if they take a picture of the voting booth screen with their cellphone?

What is it going to take to get voters to the voting booth? How far can I go before the FBI starts asking me questions?

Seems like the bloggers are the only ones talking straight about candidates in the Lehigh Valley.

That would be both illegal and unethical

Who is the write-in for what office?

How about ten free stitches to the wound of your choice?

All kidding aside...

I would want to support a write-in candidate for Allentown City Council that would have a chance of winning in the upcoming election.

At this point in time, I'd would ask the readers of this blog who they think would have a chance of winning as a write-in. My social circles are not as big as some may think and my well informed choices for candidates are few.

Pawlowski had money $$$ and Mike Fleck to help good citizens decide who to vote for. Where are all the PAC mailers now? Where are the PAC yard signs?

Who should Allentown citizens be voting into City Council on November 3rd? Will voters just vote straight party ticket and write-ins will not be considered? Lou Hirschman, will he be considered by party voters?

Hopefully this is not too off topic and I'm also asking readers for feedback and discussion. Bernie, can I offer you a free beer to break the rules? ;-)

Wow! Some people are really consumed with hatred! What kind of person thinks like that? I know of two people, unfortunately.

I can think of a few detractors and haters who would like to send you a bag of dog poop, Bernie. Hey, if they can't take honest reporting, too fu[[ing bad.

Me? I'd send you a bouquet of roses if I were in the florist business. Since I am not, I will continue to enjoy the freebie of the fruits of your excellent investigative journalism. Keep up the good work. Let the young whipper-snapper Dees take the glory, while you quietly scoop up major awards right and left.

Rich, I would love to join you for a beer at ABW, but i retired the champ in 1985. I have not drunk since then. I will add your excellent suggestion to my Opinions Online column tomorrow.

My first write-in choice would be you. My second would be Jeanette, whom I would love to see do a third term.

Let me take a moment and get persoNAL, if you don't mind. When I was in high school, I dated a very nice lady named Mary Ellen, and I adored her. She had told me that lips that touch alcohol would never touch hers. She was kinda' joking and no real prude. She just thought we were too young. Behind her back, as well as my parents, I used to drink quite a bit. It all caught up to me one night when I was at some big dance and my parents discovered what I had been doing. They actually pulled me out of the dance, which was fairly embarrassing. On top of that, I was dumped by my first real (I think) girlfriend in fairly short order.

So in high school, I should have learned I am one of those people who just can't drink. Unfortunately, I am a slow learner. It was not until 1985 that I finally quit. The first few year, I avoided bars completely. These days it does not bother me. I look forward to attending your wedding to Diane.

These are the Days of Wine and Roses. Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick. Powerful movie. Alcoholism is a devastating disease. Glad you beat it, Bernie,

Being a dry drunk isn't much of a victory, Deesnutz deserves loads of freebies to supplement his modest salary driving the short bus.

Not too long ago he was eating off roach infested cardboard in a single wide.

She's going nuts that winter is coming, and her RAV4 was given away as part of her freebie package to you, fearing that Dees is going to kick her shriveled behind in the election, and lamenting that the Express Times got her amended complaint thrown out the door. According to the transcript, she can't keep any of the jobs she does manage to get, once someone does a Google search. She tried to blame that on the E-T, and the judge didn't have any of that. Read em and weep, in her words. She has made her own name M-U-D, and is reduced to posting here anon. So much for pummeling people with the truth as she sees it. Hope she has a couple of gallons of vodka and pounds of cocoa in the cabinet - the weather is becoming fowl and whory.

@7:26PM At least Dees can hold a job. That is something you've never been able to do - and now you're washed up. And your house you no longer own because you disparaged someone's character, and you lost your car because of the same. According to Landex, Dees owns his house, and we know he owns a car. Who is the winner, and who is the pathetic loser?

Matteo Deesgrace is a lumpy little turd who loves lapping up Boonie's blog drivel when Gregory is released the Ridge St Stunner will be back at council meetings and little bus boy won't be so fresh.

Tricia Mezzacappa, You won't be there for long bc you are losing the home you fraudulently conveyed to your mother.

Did the A-town students walk out today, too?

Bernie O'Hare said...

No. It was suposed to be a week. But the frauds called it off after two days. Bothe Frassetto and nate Whips need to be charged with corrupting the morals of a minor, 18 Pa.C.S. Section 6301 (a)(2). "Any person who knowingly aids, abets, entices or encourages a minor younger than 18 years of age to commit truancy commits a summary offense." I would charge one count for every student in the high schools and middle schools.

@4:40AM Yes, she's been in mental distress her entire life, evidently.

If she would stop posting here, you wouldn't see references to her. Since she has no other outlet for disseminating her insanity and insults, it's a good bet she will continue stalking Bernie on his own website - and people will come to Bernie's defense.

I couldn't agree more. And, if I were a parent of one of students who walked out, I would be very vocal with the Allentown School Administration and the Allentown Police Administration about issuing reprimands, sanctions and charges against them. And, the past and present School administrators in Saucon Valley, where I reside, know this to be true as I have sat in on countless school meetings with special and/or alternative-needs students, whether in my professional capacity, as a foster parent and as an adoptive parent.

In fact, in one of my earliest jobs right out of college was working with primarily truant adolescents and I would make daily rounds to their homes, rile them out of bed, make then get dressed and drive them, moaning and complaining, to school- sometimes, even staying with them in the classroom until they settled down and acted appropriately; even teaching them the subject matter one-on-one as the other students would be looking at us wondering why their classmate got such "special" treatment. And I did this with some of my foster kids, too. Many teachers and administrators thanked me for my efforts.

I'm not giving Frassetto any pats on his back- despite his over-exaggerated sense of self-worth.

Bernie,
It's a shame when I see you try to put up a small post for a bit of humor, the crazies have to come out with the elementary schoolyard comments.
I suppose that isn't a bad thing for me, as it demonstrates the difference between myself and my opponent.
I can only hope that West Easton residents recognize that difference at the voting booth and understand the problems facing our borough.
West Easton Council is in a state of disarray since the primary. They haven't been able to hold a council meeting since August 13th, due to the lack of council members attending (including our council president, who lost the primary). There seems to be no urgency in filling vacant positions, such as that for Borough Manager. Petty thefts are increasing due to our dependence on the State Police, who also won't enforce local ordinances. Not coming up with a budget before the end of the year, should the sitting council continue in this manner would be a major problem.
The point in highlighting these problems is that there are bigger concerns for West Easton residents, other than my holding a job for the last 10 years that some look down on and I happen to enjoy, or in pointing out my past low times (Which, by the way, they are only aware of because I openly talk about the rough spots I went through).
I'd like to think that when voters take a close look at my opponent they will see that someone with debt and criminal convictions due to their own actions isn't worthy of a position of trust in West Easton government.

Just great. We have a choice between two crazy stalkers. Wow. Pick crazy obsessive stalker A or crazy obsessive stalker B.

Some election choice.
