Fed Ed's Atiyeh Connection

When you think of developer Abe Atiyeh, you might be thinking rehabs, nursing homes or even private prisons. But in recent years, he's really begun to focus on billboards. He was trying to get his foot in the door in Allentown, but Doylestown-based Premier Media beat him to it with plans for a series of electronic billboards. Abe Atiyeh now operates those billboards himself. How did this happen when the City and Mayor both have vendettas against him, as Atiyeh has claimed?

Two words.

Miked Fleck.

Atiyeh hired Fleck.

"Mike had access to the mayor and the approval process, why not use a consultant for that?" argued Atiyeh.

Because it sure smells bad. Though Fleck and Pawlowski both insisted there would be a separation between Fleck's business and political consulting, it's very clear that Atiyeh was brought on board to sprinkle different campaigns and PACs with money.

Atiyeh insists there was no quid pro quo. Fleck was wearing a wire for 90 days, and I'm sure he has no reason to be worried at all.

Indeed - Atiyeh's name was mud around here, and suddenly his farts smelled like lilac bushes.

An OT FYI- Someone close to Jim Gregory was heard saying that he was released this past weekend. Apparently it came from a pretty good source. Any word out there at your end?

He is not getting out until February, so your source is pretty shitty.

This is just an unfortunate distraction in the press.

You mean those digital billboards like the one in front of Mack South Fire Station that destroyed any ability to sit outside for these brave first responders are now operated by Abe?

Maybe he can rub that ridiculous rosary and God will make all of his worries disappear.

Yes, why hasn't the Mcall written a story on the revenue the digital billboards have generated for the City or lack there of? Does Atiyeh entities pay for advertising and does the City see revenue for that. At least one candidate paid $1000 for advertising. Did the candidate FedEd was pushing record an expense or in kind contribution? Maybe thr addd was considered a free public service announcements for the City. Seemed like these adds were up for at least three weeks. Who audits the adds that are displayed? Let's not forget many people including some in council were opposed to digital billboards on public lands but with a swoop of FedEd's pen, all zoning considerations were overruled.

Bernie I am working on some financial facts regarding Mr. Atiyeh and a particular candidate. I will be in touch.

"Mike had access to the mayor and the approval process." Can you spell incriminating? I hope the Feds send him a message.
