Northampton County Council voted unanimously last night, with little discussion, to require the Executive to provide seven working days notice for any of his future appointments. This is a reaction to several of Executive John Brown's cabinet selections, in which Council was provided with little advance notice.
Five Council members must confirm the Executive's cabinet appointments, as well as his picks for the county's numerous boards and commissions.
Prior to the vote, Controller Steve Barron recommended passage, warning Council of "five o'clock specials."

Such a brave move on the part of council. What happened when they voted on the contract max? Remember this lot on election day. A wake up call is needed.
Didn't Barron support the president who lied when he said all bills would be posted on line for 30 days before signing? Isn't Barron a member of the "we have to pass the bill to see what's in it" party that approved a 1,600 page bill without reading it? Yes. Yes he is.

Hopefully the people of NorCo will remember the debacle of voting both Brown in and also the clowns on council. Desperate need for change!
