Spadoni to Seek Karen Dolan's Seat in Bethlehem

Bethlehem Attorney Chris Spadoni would like Karen Dolan's seat on Bethlehem City Council, and he deserves it. My first trial was against him, and the bastard beat me. I've had it in for him ever since, and this is my chance to get revenge.

Actually, Chris and I are friends for many years. He helped me complete my first long run. He never looked down his nose at me after I was suspended from practicing law. He has a well-earned reputation as a fierce litigator, but what most people forget is that he is extremely knowledgeable about municipal government. Over his career, he's provided legal advice to Northampton County, Lower Mount Bethel Township, Stockertown and Easton. Most importantly, he served as Bethlehem's City Council Solicitor for 16 years. He succeeded a fellow you might know. His name is John Morganelli.

With his institutional knowledge, he's without question the most qualified applicant. As he states himself, he'd be able to "hit the ground running". His top priorities are "public safety, fiscal responsibility, and the provision of services".

He indicated he would only serve as a placeholder, leaving the politics to someone else.

Unfortunately, it was politics that ended his position as Solicitor. Dolan wanted him replaced because he gave legal advice, as opposed to telling her what she wanted to hear.

It would be the ultimate irony to see Spadoni selected for the seat she once held.

You can read Spadoni's responses to a few questions here.

We should be so lucky!!! Spadoni would be the BEST choice ever!!!

If he didn't have the votes to stay solicitor, he won't get them to be put on council. Won't happen. Dream on.

It will be a woman. Pushing Karen Dolan out isn't going to make your recommendation worth much in councils eyes.

you may want to check with chris s to make sure he thinks you are his friend...just sayin

Add my praises to the list of supporters in Chris Spadoni's corner and among his well wishers. He would be an asset to the City of Bethlehem. Good luck Chris.

On a side note, I find it interesting (and sort of comical) that the organization that is looking to replace the Fox at the Illick's Mill is council member Cathy Reuscher's employer, the Appalachian Mountain Club. Dolan Part II in the making?

Best News I've seen here in a long time, Attorney Spadoni is beyond reasonable doubt the best man for the job...Good Luck Chris,

They'll have a number of quality applicants. He'd be a good choice. Guess he isn't running for judge again next year.

My hope is that Reuscher does not run next year. She has a somewhat limited view (all she talks about are sidewalks) and is too easily manipulated by the others. But thankfully, she is nothing like Dolan and i doubt very much that she would engage in the multiple conflicts of interest that Dolan did.

Tony Simao SHOULD be the selection but we all know there is no room for a gay man in city politics, shame on you Mr. Shanker for not advancing our cause in a timely fashion.

They had great candidates for the last vacancy and they brushed them off. Spadoni hasn't got a chance.

whatabout that "Lumpy" character? He's the Susan Lucci of local politics.

Bernie O'Hare said...

He's a great guy, too.

This would make sense so in Bethlehem I doubt it happens. I really wonder about my city sometimes.

They should give it to Olga. A woman should definitely be selected.

Spadoni is head and shoulders above the others. I remember Rothman and Colon from their previous applications. Both made good impressions. Rothman said she would attend meetings, and she did. Colon said he would attend meetings, but seems to have stopped. I've seen Olga Negron at a Planning Commission support a sidewalk deferral bc she liked the green space, with no consideration to making the city pedestrian friendly. I consider her a very weak candidate, and someone who could never hit the ground running. But if they are looking for someone they can control, it will go to her. I am unfamiliar with the other candidates, and there could be a diamond in there.

You are my diamond Bernie!

Does Joe Kelly need another job? How about Melnick or Grubb?

Bernie O'Hare said...

You are mentioning people who have not applied. All three would be great.

Grubb would be Snubbed

Bernie O'Hare said...

He won't be snubbed bc he did not apply.

Jim Gregory will run next year, that is a given. he will be a shoe-in. he has support form city employees, unions and is well known in the city.

He always stood up for the little guy.

No question that Jim will runs and gets elected. He got caught up in some nasty insider politics and payed the price.
He still has many fiends in Bethlehem who will not buy into what was done to him.

Re: JG
ROFLMAO!

I believe his write-in campaign garnered four votes. His sole function in local politics is comedic relief. Outside that world, he is a bully and an abuser of women.

Bethlehem is mad about the loss of Greggyplatz at this years MusikFest, there will be a referendum on our old guard this spring that will be shiver the stodgy old timbers of blue bloods like Bobby Donchez.

When they see the chiseled hunk of muscle that emerges from D pod wombs will moisten and members will rise as a biological response to the renewed and pastier James Gregory.

Jolly Joe claims he won't reimburse the balance of Jim's airtime which is okay because there are HAM operators out there who are itching not only to get Jim in their houses but to let his mouth roar. Think Coast To Coast AM meets Michael Savage but with a listener ship of just me Bernie and Trich. That will change however as the message spreads and local politicians are metaphorically castrated by the silver sheared tongue of our own Jim G.

Spadoni couldn't tell the folks filing the Gracedale initiative what the process was so how politically astute could he be? JUSTSAYIN

Bernie O'Hare said...

It was not his job to provide legal advice to looks like you. Just saying.

"Jim Gregory ... is well known in the city."

Yes, another well known convict with a record, like his cohort the Witch of West Easton. He may get two votes - not exactly a "shoe in".

"It was not his job to provide legal advice to looks like you. Just saying."

He was order4ed by Stoffa to mislead the Save Gracedale folks but somehow he was there to help you and Angle.

His complicity in the dump Gracedale scam was noted. he will not get the votes for city councilman, as they have been made aware of his actions.

Bernie O'Hare said...

Good. An email from one of you kooks is bound to make him look good.

People make fun of it but Jim Gregory is still a valued name in Bethlehem. No question when he runs for city council he will win.

There are already people who are ready to support him. People are aware of how he was taken down and the circumstances surrounding it.

Gregory is a survivor and will triumph in the end.

The UNITY PAC will help him get back on his feet.

Imagine the intense rub down Greggy will get when he is released, hope his toes can handle the extreme curling....
