Despite Threatening Remark, Nazareth Cop Still On Duty

Schwab (far right) never spent day in military.
Last week, Nazareth Police Officer Eric Schwab implored fellow police officers in barely literate Facebook rants to "light this fucker up". Since that "fucker" is me, I was a tad concerned. Though I doubt he meant it literally, it is disconcerting when an armed police officer uses that kind of language to other armed officers.

He left the Barrett Township force in 2011 under mysterious circumstances, and from there, seemed to be going in the wrong direction. He worked for the DeSales University "police" department, which has no real police powers.

Schwab was nevertheless a Trachta pick for Nazareth late last year. He has a part-time gig in Stockertown, too. Chiefs and Mayors tend to like him because he is virulently anti-union.

So far as I know, he has so far suffered no disciplinary action for his "light this fucker up" remark. He was on duty all weekend. No apology from the Mayor or Chief, either. Maybe they gave him a commendation.

On July 5, while fireworks exploded throughout the borough, he ducked his cruiser into an alleyway and attended a back yard BBQ hosted by a fellow part-time officer.

Maybe he was on break.

His picnicing was disrupted by the report of a death on Belvidere Street.

No threat jackass. You are the King of Drama queens.

The victim card is the only card he has. Give the guy some love.

If a cop doesn't want to be a member of a union, he is a total fool. Especially him. He's the type of cop who needs a union to protect his dumb ass.

This guy sounds like another rogue officer. All these officers need to realize who they work for....the people

AR15 training for a wannabe? And with a haircut like that, sure does make him a real "he"ro all right...

Anonymous said...

That's one bad haircut.

Anonymous said...

Looks like he forgot to extend the stock... maybe he does need that training after all. ..

Remember nose on the charging handle and watch the front site. Stock should be fully extended,,as Anon 10;37 says and if yours is a Colt 1-7 twist use 62gr Hornady hpbt not 55 gr.ball .Don't load new magazines to capacity the WILL malfunction. You Should be trained enough to hit a soft ball at 100 yard offhand no optic, they prohibit time on target and ocular peripheral movements of street 'COMBAT" targets. You probably will not get this in your class.Good luck all.

Is that a pick the gay cop out of the lineup photo?

Peter J.Cochran said...

What does that mean/or what are you insinuating? What guy cop/ Is chuck norris a shooter/he's a martial arts man, yes? I would nt mess with mr. norris. He is beyond even all but few even in Sr.age a formatable 'body'combatant . Issue is these guys don't cause any troble ,and serious firarms handlers don't even have unpaid parkink tickits.

5:51 that is exactly the trouble with unions

Anonymous said...

Union Reps are an advocate for the members. It would be distasteful to represent the fools, but they have the right to be defended. Even an asshole like this one in Nazareth.

Your opinion would be that all defense lawyers only represent the guilty. I see.

Any azzclown that ran into a bus full of people withy a loaded revolver should have been thrown off of any police force. No bravery there. Time to go back to the John Wayne and Rambo movies, ya wannabe's

It is Cam Duc nutsack!

As I read about the behavior of the "officers" that Trachta has hired, I can't help but compare their attitudes to that of those officers where Trachta came from, Brooklyn South.
These Nazareth officers are Brooklyn South Wannabees. And I have no use for military wannabees either.
Schwab is way over the line with the "Light you up" admonition. Even I know that is actionable. Somebody needs to reign these Rogue Cowboys in. I hope The Nazareth Council has the guts.

This guy is an ass. We called him because the kid across the street was hitting cars with rocks and after my brother yelled at him, the kids father threatened my brother. So when Officer Schwab came, my mother told him child services needs to be called because these kids are out doing whatever they want. His response was "Well that's not gonna happen. " My mom then asked why he would say that and said he needs to do his job. He got mad at her and demanded to see her ID. When she gave it to him, he ripped it from her hands. She told him if it was the other way around, she'd be in the back of his car. She called him a jerk and demanded another officer be called, which he did. After everything, he apologized to my brother (not my mother who was the one he actually assaulted )and said he was tired from working a shift up in Stroudsburg.

Casey disrespects the NYPD. he is a real jerk. these guys are hero's while Casey is just a puissant wannabe.

he doesn't even know where Nazareth is. He plays the big man because he knows O'Hare will protect him.

Wait, YOU walk around with a holstered gun and THIS guy thinks he's a big man? Back to the want ads, Yosemite Sam.

To;Anon 8;48 I got your red herring-I would tend to agree with you ,the elder Mazzio as I understand never enters the bus,but stopped it.YOU CANNOT know what was going on here. This country was literally on fire,Philly is 60 miles away and out of control- this cop did not know who was going to be on the other side of the bus door. Sheriff Stocker at the time even had appointed a civilian marksmanship team and deputized them because of the grave concerns the population had about safety.

Anonymous said...

Yeah. She definitely was. How dare she question him when he wouldn't do his job.

Anonymous said...

anon 10:13, really a loaded gun on a bus? The guy is no hero and Philly was hardly that bad. Spent much time there during that time frame. The idea of a deputized posse here in Northampton County made up of gun nut yahoos is more frightening than any freedom riders.

Officer Schwab was not at a back yard BBQ on July 5 and the part time officer was not home

Bernie O'Hare said...

Dude, give it up already. His cruiser was taped on video, parked in the alley. He was seen at the BBQ. I doubt he was drinking and may have been on break. But I got the evidence the day it happened. The day it happened, emails were sent to the Chief and Mayor. Now, 10 days later, you cook up a lame excuse.
