Richard Young: NorCo New Director of Public Works

"You have a big job ahead of you," warned Council President Peg Ferraro.

"That's what I hear," answered the soft-spoken engineer.

Allentown Director of Public Works Richard Young is taking over in Northampton County. He sailed through the Personnel Committee on Wednesday and was unanimously confirmed last night. Though he lives in East Side Allentown, he told Council last night that his family is from Lower Saucon Township, going back at least four generations. He added that Young's Hill is named after his family. "I look forward to serving the people of Northampton County," he added.

I think Stoffa is responsible for the missing Malaysian airplane.

Bernie...Any word on the street about who will replace Monroe County Emergency Management Director Guy Miller? I know they did interviews this week and as a county resident I hope they make a decision soon.

Ok,This choice of Engineer seems on target. Lets slow down and think this out. Infrastructure is necessary for commerce --that equates to taxes and provides jobs and quality of life for families here. Engineers are a very important part of our live structure .Goog move Mr.Brown.

I'm no fan of Brown. I'm a Callahan supporter, and have watched with horrified amusement as Brown has fired round after round into his own foot, paused, rammed in another mag, and squeezed off a few more shots.

But Rich Young is a quality choice. I've worked with him for years in various capacities. Definitely the best available athlete.
