Michael Donovan: You Think This is Easy?

Allentown City Council VP Michael Donovan is a tad frustrated. Cheer up, Michael. You could be Ron Angle.

So it is Toomey’s fault Mike’s job as city councilman is difficult/frustrating. He loses credibility and even pity when he whines in this partisan fashion. One party is in control of Allentown. This same party has taken the city into increased spending and borrowing, higher fees in lieu of tax hikes, the police contract, caused the exodus of experience city staff, presided over spreading blight and general despair. Here’s some good advice one might hear on the streets of Allentown; man up to the position or get out of the way.

Elected officials blaming others for their ineffectiveness and woe?

Say it ain't so. Another graduate of the Barack Hussein Obama school of political science.

Scott,

Pat Toomey was the chair of the commission to redo allentown's charter. After he finished, he moved out of the city. It would be nice if Pat owned up to his role in helping to create such a crap hole of gov't in Allentown.

Proof, once again, that Allentown has been screwed by the R's and the D's. The only difference between the two parties in allentown is that one knows how to win elections and the other doesn't.

But it's nice to see that you want to raise taxes scott.

Anon 4:43,

Your post is nonsensical. So what Pat moved out of the city, who can blame him? He joins a legion of other good people who made the very rational choice to relocate to a better governed municipality. I want to raise taxes? You’ll have to explain that one to me.
Compared to the city’s elected officials the charter is a sound document. Democrats alone are responsible for the demise this city has experienced in the last eight years. That fact is inescapable.

4:43,

Heavy drinking and / or drug abuse before posting is never advisable.

So, you were saying how Toomey and the Republicans destroyed Allentown...?

Scott's position is that he would rather see higher taxes instead of fees. He also is to avoid holding a Republican accountable for the terrible shape of Allentown's gov't.

All I need to know about Scott Armstrong is that he hates Democrats of any stripe and wants them dead in the water. He says so over and over again.

Anon 12:57,
Perhaps with some rest there would be more clarity to your posts. Higher fees are in fact the same as a tax increase when the revenues are used in the general fund. Perhaps this sort of fancy accounting is a bit complex for you.
Do I “hate Democrats” ? Why not explain to me what I should admire about the party, their tactics, their leaders, or those who write here routinely resorting to smears, insults and slanders.
